if you can spend some more money then go for UL1350+ which is 512Kbps and supports online straming of videos so there will be less tension and a complete peace of mind!

I am using 1350PLus plan but still there is a problem regarding speed. But still 1350 UL connection is ok. as you can downoad at least 2 - 3 GB per day without disturbing your sleep time. as in 500 plans you will get 2MB/s but still there is always a tension regarding bill. 750 UL plan gives you only 256 KB/s. which is for surfing purpose only.

Your inflated bills' story is pointing to many causes:

    a) You are not scheduling your downloads in 2 AM ~ 8 AM window properly. Do you restart/reboot your modem after 2 AM and before 8 AM daily?
    b) Your BB account may not be port bound, i.e., not tied to your phone number. So anyone can use it and may be using it.

Are you really in need of great downloads? If yes, then you can stick to current plans and schedule all downloads during 2 AM to 8 AM window. Please visit the "Broadband How To" section and refer a method posted there.

On the other hand, if you are not too savvy about automated router booting and scheduling, or do not need to download heavily, opt for the unlimited plans.

There are two combo plans that often cause confusion and almost everyone refers to them as Home 500 C or just Home 500.

    The plans are:

    Home 500 C: Rate = Rs. 500 pm, Usage limit = 1.5 GB
    Home 500 C+: Rate = Rs. 600 pm, Usage limit = 2.5 GB

So Home 500 Plus is probably Home 500 C+.

To all, I have written my latest guide for automated rescheduling. It can be found here: http://www.indiabroadband.net/broadb...html#post33400 (Automatic rebooting of router at 2 AM and 8 AM)

Can u please explain more about port bound. how to tie to phone number. How to stop others from using my number.

    thanks

Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do. This must be done by the ISP. BSNL is doing it in major cities. If your real IP address is like 117.xxx.xxx.xxx then it is likely that your connection is port bound. On the other hand, if your real IP address is 59.xxx.xxx.xxx, then the chances are your connection is not port bound.

However, the above is just an assumption - not an evidence.

The only way to prevent others from using your account is to change your broadband password. When changing the password, also make it strong and difficult to guess.
