Send a message via Yahoo to player

first copy the original video to some other location and then rename it with hancock.avi and then try to play it.

if this doesnt help then you can try installing klite mega codec pack which is available for free download and can render almost all of the file formats its a codec after installing Klite then open your movie with windows media player then see if it helps or not ......

i think file is fake.make sure that extension is indeed .avi & not something else.open my computer--->tools--->folder options--->view.uncheck "hide extension for known file types".no .avi file can display such message as you are getting in my opinion.i think file's true extension is not .avi but .exe & even if it's .avi it is most probably a fake because hancock is not yet released on DVD.

the file is a fake because it can't be a DVD RIP.check for comments on the torrent from where u downloaded the file.all newly released movies have a file name with the letters "CAM" because they are hall prints and have been shot on a handheld.

a rule of thumb-never download newly released movies with the extension "DVD RIP",most likely its a tracker,a fake and still there are a huge number of seeds and peers which make it look as a genuine file.

exactly my point.if the release name says DVD RIP for a newly released movie which hasn't been released on DVD then it's definitely a fake.all the genuine hancock movie versions currently available on net are CAM/TELE SYNC versions which means they are recorded using a camera inside a cinema hall.
