    Default modem disconnects

my ut3002ru bsnl modem disconnects even if there is a very minute fluctuation in electricity.
whenever i switch on tubelights or fans it disconnects.
previosly i complained about utorrent freezing router in the middle of the night. i think this is the reason.
why the hell is the modem so sensitive?
what is the cheapest solution to my problem?
i cannot connect the adapter to ups(for several reasons). so suggest me some other methods.
is there some socket that gives regulated supply to modem adapter so that it can avoid these minute fluctuations?

Are you confident that the SNR values are OK? Is your telephone line running in proximity to electrical lines?

telephone line is not anywhere near electricity lines. i think the problem is with the power input through adapter. so is there any cheap solution?
    this is my modem characteristics
    SNR Margin (dB): 19.0 21.0
    Attenuation (dB): 3.0 4.5
    Output Power (dBm): 11.6 11.8
    Attainable Rate (Kbps): 12148 1427
    Rate (Kbps): 7995 761

do any of u experience this problem?

Your line values are fine. So the problem is with electrical voltage.

Whereas a modem device will handle small fluctuations, a big dip (less than 200 volts) may be a problem.

Your problem is not with the modem but with the 12V DC power adapter. If you do not have access to your UPS, then try a voltage stabilizer.

actually the problem with my ups is that it just gives direct supply and acts as a ups only when electricity is not there. i got it repaired a few times but now its high time i change it(after 5 years).

    @indianblood
    1
Please mention your modem/model make always.

    2
Give the original power adapter ratings
say 9V or 12 V AC or DC 1 amp etc.
    Polarity of plug Inner +ve.
Are you using a UPS power supply ?

    3. To Check model details
In IE or your browser type 192.168.1.1
    enter admin
password : usually admin or password
    4.
see the menu choices one by one.
Try to back up present settings to hard disk ,
    before attempting any changes.
    5.
Still better take screen shots of existing pages.
    with present working entries !
