But when it comes to internet, it makes no difference because internet speeds in India are typically 2 mbps or less except for some high end business plans that offer 8 mbps. In either case, wi-fi or LAN can outclass internet speeds any time. The difference is only for local files exchange within the internal network when LAN will be faster.

| Junior Member | Yea, I agree wid Just4kix ... Ofcourse, both have some diference above 54MBPS ... but, as fas as Indians speeds are concerned, it doesnotmake any difference... but, taking many things into consideration .. its better to take wireless routers.... in future its always good to have wi-fi one... becoz future is gonna be wireless... take somthing like LINKSYS WAG200G ... which supports both lan and wi-fi and has good wi-fi range... |

Rep Power: 0 | In australia where i am .. we get 24 Mbps So wont mind if the companies here think of getting hi speeds like more than 54 mb.Use of lan or Wifi in regards to internet it really doesnt make any difference. I have tried it at my place with my home pc connected to LAN and laptop to Wifi. THough to use IPtv(yes we get that too and its free atm its in testing phase) we need to have LAN connected to pc. |

Rep Power: 2 | Read my post on "How-to configuring Huawei MT841 for BSNL Broadband" I do not see how you can achieve both, that is, ability use a normal dialer for Ehternet based connection from modem to PC/laptop) and otherwise use WiFi to connect at the same time, because the modem configuration will need to be changed each time to suit your type of connectivity. If anybody else knows how to do it, please advise. Thanks in advance. Regards, Manoj Kuruvanthody |
