    Arrow Help Port Clogged??

Hi, I am a 500c+ user. Three nights ago i had noticed that my speed between 2-8 am was very slow only 20 to 40 KB/s. So then I checked the speed during normal timing, to check whether BSNL playing with the speed, surprisingly the speed was same

Now since I had already downloaded 30+ GB so i didnt bother about the speed that. It was the same story yesterday too. So i googled to check about the problem. Some said there is some spyware, malware in your PC is affecting net connectivity. Plz help me guys. What spyware or anti-malware software you use. I recently uninstalled AD-AWARE. Do you think because of spyware, malware, My laptop is slow in net connection or something wrong with BSNL guys. PLz answer this as today I might give my complaint

P.S there is no chance of malware or spware also becuse I use the following

    AVG
    Avira
    NOD 32
    CC Cleaner
    Norton Anti-virus

many users reported this problem of getting slow speeds between 2-8AM while normal speeds for rest of the time.this may be due to a large no. of people downloading at same time in your area.try restarting modem at 2:05AM to see if speed increase.

then check SNR & Line Attn values in your modem.SNR values should not be less than 10 & Line Attn should not be more than 30-32.if this is not the case get your line checked by bsnl.

in your modem settings look for status/overview tab etc & in there you will find these values.

Your SNR values are quite good.

But even with low SNR values, it should result in disconnections and not speed downgrading.

Note that BSNL does not promise 2 mbps. That is the maximum attainable. BSNL does not throttle speed but if too many users are logged in and downloading heavily then obviously speed will suffer. However, 256 kbps is always guaranteed.

If the speed falls below 256 kbps then you can complain.

both SNR & Attn values are fine so problem i think is with bsnl network in your area.maybe it's too congested & bsnl need to upgrade their network in your area.

Yoy know what, These Bsnl guys are idiots, I am not bieng racist on these babus but they have little or no knowlegde in telecoms expertise. Even when I called and told them thatmy speed is less than 32KB/s , some fellow is saying that we give same speed to everyone, it is impossible and some crap.

well what do you expect from babus who don't have any technical know how of broadband.they were selected in service for doing administrative works not for managing broadband technical issues but like all other govt organizations work is just assigned to any body without taking any consideration of their qualifications for the job being given.
