Thread: Monthly Usage Resets?

Hi all,

I got my connection Home 500 Combo Plus; speed upto 2 Mbps on 2008/07/12
ie on june 12th, till july 31 i had used about 1.2GB of my alloted 2.5GB,

Now when i login an check the usage on august 1 it shows as 0.006, so it has been reset. i want to know how they calculate the usage is it from the date of order that is from 2008/07/12 to 2008/08/12 or they reset it at the end of the month.

can i use my 2.5gb quota until september 1 or should i divide it and use it accordingly upto 2008/08/12. please let me know

Yes u can use 2.5gb for this month & onwards.ur billing cycel will be from 1st to 30th or 31st.

From the date your broadband usage starts first time, it will get calculated till the 1st of the immediate next month, so that BSNL can more easily "correct" your billing calculations from 1st of this month to 1st of every month periodically going forward. Of course, accordingly the usage statistics will be reset and started afresh.

even though this has been confirmed by anusheri i wish to double confirm it cos i wanted to know the same thing until my bill came.

it doesnt matter what kinda plan u take. my plan 750 UL was started from 16 June and ended 30 june. and i didnt pay 750... i paid only 375 half price...

its like as if they calculate per day usage and charge... sort of a post paid it seems.

anyways so i got charged half month.

so thats the proof!

i dont think you can use the full 2.5gb.. players_player is right.. there is some calculation behind it.

calculate the usage by dividing total limit for 1 month by no. of days & you will get the usage limit for 1 day.then multiply this by no. of days you have connection in 1st month & that will be your limit.similarly calculate bill.example---->if you get connection on 15th of month then you can use only half of the monthly limit & your bill too will be half of month.

yeah i have 500c plan(1.5gb per month). i got the connection on feb 14. so actually free usage was only 750mb for feb. so free usage per day approx 50mb. you can calculate for the no of days in the month remaining.

As all the wise people said, usage and charges are always pro-rated for the first month - depends upon the billing cycle start date and the actual plan start date.

yup its calculated per day.

simple calculation...
if u hv home 500..
then 2.5 gb = 2500 MB means
2500/30 = near abt 80 Mb per day
so calculated like according to ur days of month
