Default info at usage site about pppoe

I saw this info at usage site: BSNL NIB-II PORTAL

"PLEASE CONFIGURE CPEs IN PPPOE MODE ONLY WITH CORRECT USER ID AND PASSWORD TO AVOID 676/678/691 ERRORS FOR MORE DETAILS PLEASE LOG ON TO UTSTARCOM Technical Support Center OR www.intranet.bsnl.co.in"

What is it? Are we not supposed to configure in bridge mode? By loggin on to the above sites I don't understand a single thing. Somebody please help

well it's best to see for yourself.if you are having no problems using bridge mode then no need to change.also this msessage is specifically for utstarcom modems.

The error numbers mentioned I don't get. But I do get errors and disconnections sometimes, which I, tolerate, because, it doen't affect me much. The error number I get is 718. But if I reconnect again, it connects. My modem is ut300r2u. Can we change our modem ourself without informing BSNL? I plan to change it to Dlink.

you can do whatever you want.you are not bind to use bsnl's modems only.if you want to buy a modem from market then it's your choice.
