It's official.Their service sucks.And to top it all they just keep sending repeated mails which are pre-generated.What a great assurance?

This is really getting out of hand now.It's been 3 days down the drain now & I have been surviving off Torrents which seem to be suckier then ever.So much for the best file hosting site.

All of the premium users kind attention please!!!!!! , Its time for us to approach some of the media to take the matter to public, i have already sent a message to ndtv news channel through their website , all of the premium users please do the same to get attention to solve this issue

Having gone thru the complete thread, I say the following:

- It is wrong on part of Rapidshare to completely block off IPs because someone or some group with a specific IP address tried to hack their servers. They should have better security in place.
- Rapidshare is passing the blame to the ISP for their problems.
- It is equally wrong on part of BSNL/MTNL users to blame them (BSNL/MTNL) for this reason.
- I am not sure what service/help you could expect from BSNL/MTNL. Let us assume that some of us, senior members, were part of BSNL CCC. What could we have done? Nothing. Abosulutely nothing. At most we could have sent a letter of complaint to RS.
- There is no international Ombudsman or forum or court to resolve this issue.
- Some of you have given comparison with Google/Yahoo/Microsoft. This is comparing Apples to Oranges. All said and done (and whatever RS or other may claim), the RS site is nothing but a storage for contraband. Yes, I expect many hate posts for this comment but I will stick to my comment. I am not acting holier than thou but merely stating the fact. I have also used RS a couple of times in the past and I am equally guilty (I have 8 copies of illegal movie downloads from torrents).
- Finally, if you think that BSNL or MTNL is at fault, you can as well switch.

i think.....RS is quality service, except this occasion....its impossible that RS haven't contacted BSNL regarding the same......but we all know BSNL is Govt company & it will definately take some time to reslove the thing or atleast reply back RS.....after all we all know we have to remind things to BSNL 100 times to get it done once.....whcih is quite a impossible for RS to do as german company & after all BSNL is way giant in terms of the service & capitals than RS......so for BSNL RS issue is nothing & thet dont care abt it.......but we are getting grounded between two bullshit corporates

& yeh taking this issue to the media will be useless........first of all they need news which will catch the attention of the max ppl........& min ppl in India know wtf is RS :51:

Hey guys I've downloaded over 40 albums from RS last month and things were going smooth... Now we've run into this barricade besides informing the media will only put u in trouble as RS is a company entangled in legal problems. We just have to wait patiently and see if the ban is lifted.....

You are probably expecting lots of people will force/censure/implore you to go back on your statement and you will sternly hold on to the same. Unfortunately, nothing so dramatic will happen. We are bothered about our own problems. No one wants to know how many illegal copies of what you have downloaded. I would not be so rude, but since you seem to have a knack for honest barebone truth, there you go!

Going to ndtv is very unwise decision! They are very smart and well informed people. Once they start digging up what purpose RS mostly serves in the third world, probably there will be an official ban on RS enforced on all ISPs. Some things lie in front of us like open secrets. People could look, but they choose not to take the extra hassle. Trying to raise hell about it would be even more self-perishing.

As bad as it sounds, let's just keep requesting/pushing/thrashing/poking/bugging RS about the entire thing. They are highly efficient and undoubtedly the best. If they are suffering like this, something very bad has happened. With a little patience from our side, I think the wait will be well compensated.

Contrary to what it may appear like I am not try to shout anyone down. I am not bothered about what people download - legal or illegal. What they do is their own business. I do advocate to go genuine but if someone does not then I leave it at that. I am concerned that many people are adversely affected for no fault of their own but what I am trying to say that some of them are blaming the wrong people. That's all.

I do not think that NDTV will take up this as a news item though this is worthy of the news. Also I doubt whether Govt or ISPs will start banning RS. If at all there is a fear of that, I may tend to think that MPAA (Motion Pictures Association of America), basically the Hollywood Studios, will try to take RS to task. They did that with Napster but are unable to do too much about the Torrents.

i spoke to rs over the phone and they said that they will compensate premium user by giving me extended 2days on my validity. all premium users can call rs and ask them for the same compensation.

This isint a place where you can come and satisfy your ego and make others look bad in the process. 4kix guy said something sensible and you just couldnt digest it or you just took the opportunity to shell out your frustration of not being able to download your daily dose of porn from rapidshare so there you go. Dont even try to explain your perspective,we all know it.

I read his post a couple of days ago and thought why hasnt anyone done anything about it? Its so rude and unpolite. This guy deserved a ban anyway!
