    Default billing dilemma,please help

please tell me how much will i be having for the month of july.

    august 1-august 24=home 250,usage was 1.5 GB.

    august 24-august 31=home 750,usage was 23 GB.

will i be charged 250 + additional (for excess .5 GB)?

    will i be charged 750+250=900?

or will i be charged the whole 23+1.5 GB according to home 250 plan.in that case i will be paying Rs 23000..which i can't afford in ANY WAY POSSIBLE.

for 1-24 aug you have 24 days of home 250 so your limit was (1024MB/31)*24=793MB & bill would be (250/31)*24=Rs.194
so for this period your bill will be 194+(1536-793)*0.90=Rs.862.7

for rest of the month bill would be (750/31)*8=194.

are you sure your plan changed on 24th because 23GB usage for 8 days in 750 plan is very difficult unless you used to upload with full speed too on torrents?also you were gettting 256kbps speeds(32KBps)right for this period not 2mbps(256KBps)speeds?

yes my plan changed on 24th evening.some one from BSNL office called and confirmed that.i also checked my account on BSNL site and it said plan home 750 UL.i was also getting speeds of 28-32 kbps
as for that 23 GB usage-am kind of a generous seeder for every 100 MB download i upload 85 MB, thats the reason .

i have experienced 750 UL plan for 9 days and am sick of the 32 kbps cap.is it advisable to change to 500 plan, that would be 2 plan changes within a span of 12 days.it takes just 3 days for a plan change here in my city.should i go forward and write an application for a plan change?

well limited plan 500 offers good speeds but you have to schedule to download between 2-8AM perfectly.also to be on safe side you have to restart modem(if using pppoe/always on mode)or disconnect/reconnect(if using bridge mode)at 2:05AM & 7:55AM after matching your PC clock with a standard new channel like AAJ TAK or using windows time update.you also have to keep an eye on your usage daily by checking bsl portal everyday to make sure that your usage is recording correctly i.e.no error of night time download being counted as billable.if you think you can manage all this then go for home 500 or else stick with UL plan.

    Lets see. Speed of UL750 256KBPs. Download speed = 256/8 = 32KBPs.

    In 8 days maximum download = 8 * 24 * 60 * 60 *32 = 22118400 kb = 21.09375 GB.

Well downloading 23 GB in 8 days on UL750 is impossible.

But download + upload can reach 42.1875. So total usage can be 23 gb easily.

Ok. My friend too changed his plan in a similar way from Home250 to UL750 . His plan came to effect on 23rd June. He got billed Rs.900(250+750) for broadband. He too was confirmed by bsnl that he will be charged for 8 days and so on (23rd to 30th).
Its always a good idea to change the new plan from 1st of the month. After all its bsnl you're talking about.

hey my friend, 250 + 750 is no problem, just hope that they don't charge according to 250 plan, then i will be left chasing the BSNL power corridors with an application for the rest of my life.

VERY TRUE. But if what does the broadband usage checking website say? Was it UL 750 from the date you mentioned. If so then you can relax.
