Question BSNL DNS server error or modem problem or what? :(

hello guys...i messed with some settings of my bsnl provided nokia-siemens c2110 modem and now i need some serious help

im using bsnl home 500 plan in 2 pcs...one via ethernet cable and another via the usb...i configured the LAN connection of both pc and the nokia-siemens modem as it is written here calcuttatelephones.c0m/dataoneinstall/mu09.html (pls change c0m to com)

everything was working just fine for 2 days...but from yesterday i noticed that any website related to Google wasn't opening...as i searched on the net about it...i thought it was a DNS server problem of bsnl...thus i tried to change the DNS ip addresses of the modem...so i logged inside my modem (using 192.168.1.1) and changed the DNS Client ip addresses to the opendns ip addresses...but it didn't work...i tried some more reliable ip addresses...but they didn't work either...so i kept what it had before and went on like that...but today it has more problems...google opens mostly...but sometimes it doesn't..and many other websites like yahoo has problems (doesn't open fully)...and many websites just doesn't open at all...and all of the filehosting websites (like rapidshare...megaupload) are among them!!!!

so u can tell how big problem i'm having currently now...i didn't know what to do after that so i thought about switching back to the previous single pc configuration...and i reset my modem with the back-switch...but it messed up the settings even more and i couldn't make it like before...i tried to dial and connect to broadband like before but it didn't connect...can anyone pls tell me what's the real problem and if i have to reset my modem then how can i do it properly

i really need urgent help thanx

well you already know the calcutta telephone dataone link so you can configure modem from there.as for sites not opening it sometimes happens that google related sites won't open for 1-2 hours.just be patient & they will work.you can check for dns problem by trying to open the sites using free proxy sites like anonymous, kproxy etc & if still sites don't open dns is not the problem.try lowering MTU value(usually in modem LAN setting)from 1500/1492 to 1460 or 1452.you can try other values too.

    Try this

Instead of quoting same problem, take some time and post what exactly you are facing.

I am facing the same problem
    (1) You should mention your modem/router/model/make/number.
    (2) to find your router IP ( why you need it if you are a novice ?)
    START RUN type
    Ok
    New Window opens
typeipconfig /all [note space after ipconfig]
    (3) When you access your modem/router menu go to
    Management.
There will be a menu item called save/backup.
Backup present settings to say C:/My Documents/ modem working.
    (4) Explain in details "same problem "
