here is the trick to utilize the maximum of your available bandwidth.
always keep on monitering the download speeds you are getting.on your 2mbps connection you should be getting 200-230 kbps.if you are getting lower speeds than that, add another file for download but also make sure that you don't add more file for downloading than required, that way you will get average lower speeds per file though you may be getting maximum total download speeds.
am using a UL 750 connection.i usually use utorrent and bit torrrent together .u torrent gives me a speed of around 20-22 kbps and bit torrent gives a speed of 10-12 kbps.that way i get an average of 30-32 kbps and my maximum bandwidth is utilized effeciently.

Do not want to utilise the maximum from bsnl. As it gives you many thing to download, on the other hand you will be billed for your current (Electricity) consumption.

i think the meter is tempered because it's not possible to have all this consumption for 1000 only.

OK. Let us not jump the gun.

I have Fridge, 2 29" TVs (both run for 3 hours daily), Microwave, Tubelights in 5 rooms (run 5 hours daily), a 1500W iron (2 hrs per week) plus 6 fans and 2 ACs. Desktop runs for 2 hours daily, laptop for 1 hours daily and 7/8 hours on weekends. On weekends, I also use my HT system for 3 to 6 hours.

Except for summer months of March/April/May/part-June, the electricity units are always below 200. In summer they are 300~350. My regular monthly bill is Rs. 750 on an average and Rs. 1200 in summer. Anyone is most welcome to inspect my meter.

Heaviest consumer of electricity (the main culprit) is a storage water heater or instant geyser. 1 bucket of hot water will set you back by 1.5 units. I used to get Rs. 1500+ in bills two years ago. After switching to LPG water heater, the consumption/bill dropped to the current.

The next big culprit is an AC. One hour of cool air from a 1.5T AC will heat up your bill by nearly 2 units.

you are right just4kix about the usage but smoothvibes posted this----
which includes my fridge, TV, washing mach, all home lights in 4 rooms balcony n kitchen and lot many other elect appliances...
since he already mentioned almost all the common devices already i assumed by other electrical appliances he meant water heater, water pump(very common especially in north india) etc.

@just4kix,i never thought of your post in such a way.as i understand you were just making a point based on facts & i appreciated that & i knew you were correct & that's why i posted this from smoothvibes post----
which includes my fridge, TV, washing mach, all home lights in 4 rooms balcony n kitchen and lot many other elect appliances...
i highlighted the part which i thought you missed because else you were completely right that usage won't cross Rs.1000 mark.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?

i hope you scanned the software first with a good antivirus first.never trust any software especially new/unheard ones unless they are open source projects(ex sourceforge) & even then always scan them unless you are downloading from a reputed software manufacturer's site like adobe, microsoft etc.

I have downloaded the software but never used it. So I cannot vouch. But prima facie, the software appears to be OK without virus. That much I can guarantee.

But there is one mention in the software by Imran.

Some ISP throttle speeds if there is nothing going on, on your connection, i.e., no internet browsing activity. Torrent or RS download is not considered as internet browsing.
For the above purpose, the software provides an automatic start of the browser and going to some sites (configurable) and refreshing the info after an interval (configurable). This, he says, helps to fool the ISP and keep the connection 'really' alive. For example, you could visit Google to Yahoo to MSN and repeat the exercise every 30 seconds. This is then done automatically by the software.

I have no idea whether the above statement (quote) and the solution is necessary. But this is probably one of the reason why your (@sb21pro) system crashed. This feature can be turned off.

I found my own method much better and it definitely works. Since something is already working, I decided not to disturb the ducks in the water.

Please refer to the "Broadband How to" section, for my method.

Thanks dear for ur precious advice, I have scanned the s/w with not only some antivirus but with some other tools also.
I hv downloaded it, scanned it and using it, bcz i can't wait for a microsoft/adobe link for the same functionality.

Hi dear, can u plz explain what u mean by crash, if u use a tool like Stud_PE, u can find that it is made up in VB, and as far as i know there would be no possibility for a VB program to crash the OS hmyWinXP).

It has no feature which can crash an OS.
And for each of its functionality, there is an option of disabling that functionality.

The only headache/real thing is to configure the Reboot.txt file according to u.

@nethack, please (2) don't take anything personally. You appear to be a very learned and tech savvy person. Everyone is not the same.

If sb21pro said that his system crashed, he has no reason to lie. Maybe there are multiple reasons to this. So let us help him and investigate the root cause. This will help all members.
