Thumbs up NOKIA SIEMENS C2110 Issues :(

    Hi Folks,

I use the BSNL unlimited 750 plan and unfortunately I have bought their trashy Nokia Siemens C2110 modem.

After a power cut, the link goes and the light goes on blinking; sometimes the link comes back only after 10-12 Hrs....

What is the practical solution to this problem?
I am taking it to my exchange to get the modem repaired or exchanged.
Is there some tweak I can use to solve this blinking issue.....

If there is a better modem or router available in the market albeit at an affordable price, please suggest some names, as I am really in a soup here

i am using the same modem & no problems here.however overall the quality of nokia siemens c2110 modems are somewhat below average as many users are having defective modems for this model.

You can buy any ADSL2+ modem from the market (make sure it supports ADSL, ADSL2+ and G.DMT protocols). You can even search eBay for the same.

The pros and cons are as follows:

    Pros:
    - Standard product from companies such as Linksys, Netgear, etc.
    - Standard firmware and not downgraded one's as those offered by BSNL/Airtel, etc.
    - Options for Port-Forwarding or Port-Triggering
    - International support possible (if you can afford to call their number)

    Cons:
    - Cost
    - BSNL will not support your modem as it is not purchased from them.

i thing i like to clear here is the support you can get from forums like this will be 100 times better than the so called bsnl support you will get for modems purchased from them.

Hi! iam frm tirupati india, coming 2 the point i think the solution for your problem is only the adapter (i.e) the power supply adapter. so, i think it is also better 2 test the modem with the another adapter with same configuration or with another one from ur isp for perfect confirmation. but for me i strongly believe it is a problem with the adapter. bye ...
