Question How much speed does Home500 /500c users get at 2am -8am ?

My friend claims speed of home 500 considerably decreases at night during the most of the unlimited hours. But Speed again increases at 6 AM.

Does the no.of users drastically affect the over all speed ?

Any home 500 users from kolkata plz reply your avg speed at night (after 2 am).

Also does changing the dns address have any effect on speed ?

I have never checked as do not download much. But when I did, and from my experience, it is varies 80 KB/s to 150 KB/s in uTorrent.

~200KBps in areas where not many people download from 2-8AM & ~100KBps in heavily congested bsnl networks as some users reported.

if u dosnt open some web pages frequently then they will throttle ur bandwidth.
    try this for solution:
    rapidshare.com /files /136140842 /iBroadBandHelper.zip.html

It is quite possible that for a few seconds you will get a speed burst. For example when you start to download something, you get a hyper speed in the beginning and then it settles down.

What is important is average and continuous speed.

OK. Yesterday I downloaded "The Guns of Navarone" from torrent. I already have the movie on VHS but I decided to give a try. The complete movie (1.88 GB) downloaded in 5 hours approximately (from usage details). This gives the speed at 107 KB/s.

didn't you read the previous replies?also never post your email address like this as bots continuously crawl over net to look for such posted email addresses & now you should expect lots of spam mail than before.

same here, i also use RS for my downloads as i don';t like Torrents I just noticed from 3 days that from 2:10 am the speed is becoming slow. I am getting 103 kbps like this on RS. Similarly when i am downlaoding from any otehr sites which has direct links. like download.com like that. i am getting full speed . Any solution to this ?

From this time the yellow light goes ON and OFF then they autometcially chnage the IP and put me on 59.93. 242 *** from 59.93.193. ***

I thought Home 500 would atleast give above 200 KBPS speed at night. But most users get bellow 150 KBPS speed

I had applied the TCPIP.SYS patch to allow more than 8 half open connections. But I was unable to get more than 120 KB/s speed.

Maybe it is coincidence. But after upgrading to uTorrent 1.8, I am now getting nearly 180 KB/s.
