Default My internet connection doesn't work during night time

    Hi,

My plan is BSNL 500C plan. I am using the modem model UT300R2U. I am not getting internet connection during night time from 10PM to 7AM. The internet led in modem wil blink for a few seconds and then it wil go off along with the Dsl. I can't even browse during the time. even if i call and complain to them, they are not helping me in this.

    Please help in this regard.

    Thank you,

open your modem settings page(type 192.168.1.1 in your browser & enter username/password as admin/admin).in the status/overview tab look for SNR & Line Attn values & post them here.

well your downstream SNR is very low.for most users it is around 25.check that line mode/modulation/connection standard is G.dmt & not ADSL2/2+.if it is G.dmt then you need to get your line checked by BSNL.

No whitestar. Even my values are very low.

As I write my values are:
    Downstream: SNR = 8~9 db, Attenuation = 33 db
    Upstream: SNR = 6 ~ 7 db, Attenuation = 15 db

I get disconnections all right. After numerous complaints this is still not sorted out.

    But my speed is OK.

SNR values must be above 10 for smooth connection(for speed Attn values matters) though some good modems can work at lower values but for bsnl provided modems i doubt it.i have seen that in some cases users modems were using ADSL2 mode while bsnl uses G.dmt & changing to G.dmt helps in solving this problem in many cases.if this doesn't work then most probably problem is with the line.
