Hi,
Yesterday I connected my new DLink DSL-2640T to my Windows XP computer. The internet connection was easily established and it works fine.
However, WLAN indicator does not glow. My laptop does not find any Wireless network. (I have another computer with LinkSys Wireless modem in another room. My laptop senses it correctly.)
When I reset the D-Link modem, the WLAN indicator glowws for a few seconds and then the light goes off. I have tried manual configuration, reset, reboot, and CD method several times. The same problem exists.
I called the D-Link service call center. As you would expect, after waiting for a long time over phone, the call center woman asked me to reset the modem and reboot it and said shed did not know what the proble was and that I should send the modem to the service center that is 150 KM away from my place.
1. Did any one have similar problem with this modem? If yes, how did you solve it?
2. I have browsed many D-Link official websites for different countries for firmware upgrade. Strange, all websites have firmware upgrades except Indian website. The call center agent said Indian customers must send the modem to service center to get firmware upgrade! My Current Firmware Version : V3.02B01T01.EU-C.20070306 . Do any of you have a compatible firmware upgrade. Please note the upgrades from other countries will not work with this version.
In the modem I am using only default values except:
VPI = 0
I have configured several Wireless modems. So, if someone can please pinpoint the issue with this particular modem and/ or send me firmware upgrade I will be grateful.
Thanks and regards,
WC
