| Platinum Member | first of all pppoe is diferent from dialup/bridge mode.in bridge mode you have to connect using windows while in pppoe mode your bsnl username/password is stored in modem & modem makes the connection as soon as it is turned on.also keep in mind that to avoid NU billing problem you have to restart modem at 2:05AM & 7:55AM as it doesn't matter if your laptop is off because it's the modem which keeps the connection alive so if you leave your modem on before 2AM while laptop starts downloading at 2:05AM there is a risk of your NU usage being billed.you can configure your modem in pppoe mode here--- http://www.calcutta.bsnl.co.in/dataoneinstall/menu.html you still have to wake up to restart modem though at 2:05AM unless you find a working telnet script to reboot your mode. PS---btw it is much easier to schedule automatic dialing & disconnection at specified times in bridge mode using just 2 batch files.

| Platinum Member | in bridge mode for connect/disconnect use batch files. paste these lines in notepad & save files as connect.bat & disconnect.bat for disconnect.bat--- Quote:

******_***@bsnl.in is my username password is my password use windows task scheduler to schedule these .bat files to run at 1:55AM(disconnect) & 2:05AM(connect) then again run disconnect.bat at 7:55AM. remember to save files as .bat as notepad saves files as .txt by default.when saving files select the file type as all files & then save the file as .bat.bat files are like .exe files & when you double click on them they execute like exe files.you can check your files by double clicking on connect.bat & disconnect.bat to see if they are working.

BTW why don;t you want to go back to PPPoE? I ask this cause after some trouble myself I switched from Bridged mode to PPPoE mode in my Nokia Siemens C2110 modem. Am glad that I don;t have to use the window dialer and it use to get disconnected frequently but now I cannot open a number of sites

Rep Power: 1 | This may happens due to the DNS problem. You can switch to open DNS. If the problem still not solved then your problem is due to a trojan. this trojan virus is not detected by many leading fully updated antivirus solutions. The only solution I know is to download Microsoft liveone care. from microsoft site. you can use it free for 90 days. This will solve your problem, atleast I think so |
