    Default Is it Possible ??

I am using BSNL Broadband(1000C Biz plan). Is it possible that some other is using my id and password in his home where he has got UL750 plan and my connection (1000 Business plan) is charged. I have seen that people having 750 UL plans got lower download speed. But when he uses some others user id & pass of non UL plans like 250, 500 or 1000 Biz plan, the download speed gets 5 times more. What is port binding?

if some one uses your user ID and password, definitely your account will be charged.it dosent matter what plan the other person is having,if your account is being used then you are at a huge risk of being over billed by BSNL.so it is advicable to change your password from time to time.

BTW i din't get exactly what you are asking.can you please re-phrase your question.

if someone else is using your id then you will surely get charged for this.. but i really dont think that someone can do this..
coz in authentication process there are few basic things a server checks... username, password, IP, mac...

if any is incorrect then it rejects login... i dont think BSNL will let this happen like this...

there is no checking other than ID and password for an account while logging in.as for the IP and MAC,still there is no provision for them to be checked .i can say this because i got like 27 BSNL accounts (non port binded)and i still can log in with no problem what so ever.

BTW, i have a UL 750 account so there is no need for me to use some 1 else's account.also am kinda fingers crossed because from this month in some of the account checking sites of BSNL, the MAC address is visible, maybe that helps track of all users.why take chance .hehe....puffff.....pufff (smokes some pot)...

but as i m using sify there are 4 points to provide authentication...
    username
    password
    IP Address
    mac

if any one is incorrect then you will not get authentication...

may be its different in case of BSNL

BSNL is slowly changing to port binding all over India so that no one can use someone else's connection. Port binding is already in place in big cities.

Other than that BSNL uses no other authentication other than username and password.
