UL750 plan is not good for downloading tons of data (in GB). It is meant for low to medium downloading, all day long, without worrying about bills.

U won't get more than 32 KBps in 750UL plan... As Just4Kix suggested, its good for light n medium downlaoding only... Its good if u do voice & video chats all time... Its good to watch videos from Youtube anytime.... Plus if u want to download more.. U'll have to put ur PC on 24*7.... But if u are a download junkie, then opt for 500 night UL plan.... and avoid using bandwidth in day-time... | |

Rep Power: 5 | @frens4ravi, A lot of questions. First a clarification. Do you mean LINKSYS modem? Because I have never heard of linsky. Be it as it may, your new modem is not going to help you speed up your downloads. It is just a device to connect to the ISP. Speed depends upon the plan and the plan only. You are mentioning kbps. Note that kbps denotes kilo bits per second whereas kBps denotes kilo bytes per second. - with a UL750 plan, you get 256 kbps or 32 kBps max. - with the Home 500 plan, you get a speed from 256 kbps (32 kBps) and anthing up to 2048 kbps (256 kBps). Finally, whether you need a phone or not, whether you need free calls or not, that is irrelevant. BSNL provides BB via telephone cables. A fixed line with telephone is given to you. You cannot return it and say "transfer voice credit to my BB credit" or something like that. Whether you use the telephone or not, is your choice. Also please confirm whether your new modem is an ADSL2+ modem/router or just a plain router. Mention its model number. In all probability it is just a router. In that case you will still require the BSNL modem. Refer to the various guides in Broadband How to section. |

Rep Power: 5 | If one opts for UL750+ or Home Combo plans then landline rent is waived off anyway. |
