i still remember when i was in pune cafe wala took a copy of my ID proof and while i was surfing a cop came in cafe to check all that.. and he checked my online activity too.. may be i look like a terrorist thats why or cops think ki sab ganjae log jinke baal nahi hote vo bamm fodte rehte hain...
Actually port binding is something very simple - nothing technical as MAC address, etc. Port binding in BSNL simply means that your broadband connection is tied to your phone number. So someone else cannot use your account because his phone number would be different.

The problem with MAC address is:

- it is too cumbersome to implement. When the modem is issued, the MAC address needs to be noted down and tied to the bb account
- if you change the modem, the connection will stop working

ohhh... is it like that...
so it means you can brind any laptop at home and start using it without any issues.. coz here in delhi.. this sify is using MAC which creates a hell lot of problems...whenever my friends come home they can not use there laptop n everytime i need to call sify to bind new system (or second system on account)
sify can bind 2 devices at maximum in delhi..

friends dont worry abt legal issues
As i am not intrested in logging into his account. i just want to know how it technically works.

I am pretty more enthusiastic because he(my friend) can login an i am unable to do.
i just want to login once.
