ok try this..may work.. open ubuntu text editor and type deluge in it and save it as deluge.txt .. save it in your home folder i.e. /home/yourname .. then browse to the folder and right click on deluge.txt and click on properties and then go to permissions and check "Allow executing file as program" .. then open terminal and type sh deluge.txt .. if deluge opens then you can add that to cron..

did you add sh deluge.txt as follows
    15 2 * * * sh deluge.txt

for testing purposes change 2:15 to current time..
i use utorrent with wine, works great!!

i tried but not working. anyway since there is no scheduler to open from suspend mode i'll start deluge at 10 pm itself and then schedule pon dsl-provider at 2.05am with moniter switched off.

i'm fed up of utorrent so no more of it.

but please inform me (in future) when u come across any other scheduler which will open ubuntu from suspend mode. i am also a member of your blog. its very beneficial. thanks

suspend mode worked in the beginning but now after i installed various packages it says
    "your computer failed to suspend"
actually when i click suspend it takes me to the login page and asks for password. if i leave the computer in this login page will it save some energy?
when i enter password it brings back all the applications.

    so answer this question
    1.i first start deluge.
2.then press suspend. it takes me to the login screen. i switch off the monitor and sleep.
3.the scheduler (pon dsl-provider) starts at 2:05am and deluge starts downloading.
i checked these 3 steps it work

    my question is
will step 2 save some power? or will it consume same power as when
i omit step 2 and just turn off the monitor and sleep?

the login screen is not sleep mode.. so it would consume same power.. better omit step 2 .. turn of monitor and SLEEP

My friends, I am not defending BSNL. But please read the fine print.

In case of limited usage plans, BSNL promises a minium speed of 256 kbps (32 KB/s) but usually much more than that. The maximum speed that will be provided will be 2 mbps (256 KB/s).

Many people expect that they should get 2 mbps by right. That is not so.

    Unhappy

I am also experincing slow browsing speed here in Jaipur. It has been taking loys of time to browse the normal sites.Download speed seems to be fine.Only browsing is slow.Few sites which I normally search are not getting opened at all.The error message is that "Explorer can not open the site".In few sites which get opened, I am not able to see the pictures in it. I see a red cross sign instead.

    Can anyone help....

You said that SNR should be greater than 10 and Attn values less than 32-33, mine is just the opposite, please guide.

I am not sure as to what these values depict.

When SNR margin values are low - that means you will get frequent disconnections.

When Line Attenuation rate is high - it means that the line has too much resistance in the circuit. Consequently your speed will suffer.

You must report the problem to your exchange in writing. Preferably write a typed letter and paste the above screen shot in the complaint. Always make a duplicate and get the "RECEIVED" stamp + Date/Signature on your copy.
