Default How to Change my modem

    Hi all,
I am using my laptop to browse net through BSNL broadband.
By mistake, I applied for Type I modem (for rent) and now I want to change my modem to Type II as it supports Wireless.
How can I change my modem to Type II. Please advice.

    Regards,
    L.Srikanth Kumar.

You can make a formal written request. Also, I will strongly suggest that:

    - you opt for Type IV wireless modem (not Type II); price is the same
    - go for outright purchase; @ Rs. 1800 it is quite worth it.

U can cancel d workorder by giving a request on plain paper with ur last month's paid bill's xerox attached.
U've just cooked it right, not installed @ ur house. So u've ample of time, go to DATAONE(Broadband) section at local telephone exchange and cancel d workorder.
It might happen that they'll issue a fresh workorder for broadband booking with type-II modem, so u'll have to wait for some more days, as u will b put into waiting list w.e.f the day u'll issue a fresh workorder.

i also have a type 1 modem. 6 months old.
if i apply for a change will they just exchange type 4 for type 1 just collecting the extra amount
or will they ask me to purchase type 4 separately and tell me to keep type 1 for myself?

I think first go to the exchange. they will suggest what to do. Many time they replace the modem with extra amount but some times they refuse to do that. SO better, talk to them first.
