    Unhappy Port Forwarding using Vista, Azureus problem

    Hi Everyone,

    I am having problem with port forwarding. I have followed all the instructions in various sites and am still unable to get higher speeds than 30 kBps. Azureus is the one I am using for the downloads. I tried using UTorrents with the instructions provided in the screenshot of the first sticky post. Nothing much happened in the sense I haven't even been able to reach 30 mark. And the torrent is one of axxo's with heavy seeding.

    Here are some clarifications I need. I have Vista Home Premium and when I run ipconfig this is what I get among other things:

    PPP adapter BSNL:

    Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
    IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 59.xxx.xxx.xxx
    Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.2
    Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 0.0.0.0

    Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:

    Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
    Link-local IPv6 Address . . . . . : fe80::dd2f:2e
    IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.34
    Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1

    The ones seen in the bold are the changes I made after going through forums. I have SmartAX MT880 Huawei Modem where I made the changes asked in the Advanced -> Virtual Server settings as follows successfully:
    Status : Enabled
    Name: azureus
    Private IP : 192.168.1.34
    Public Port: 49154
    Private Port: 49154
    Protocol Type: TCP

    For Azureus:
    Tools-> Options->Connection
    TCP listen Port :49154
    UDP listen Port: 49154

    Tools->Options->Plugins->UPnP
    I have disabled "Enable UPnP" checkbox.

    I am not sure if I am using the right IP address. Should I be using 59.xxx.xxx.xxx? I have disabled Windows firewall permenantly in my system and use Comodo Personal Firewall and Azureus is configured to run by default. I have also tried removing the firewall as a whole but still not able to spike up the speed. Any help is deeply appreciated.

    Thanks in Advance

    Thanks for the reply. I have already tried that site that you forwarded. I am using Home UL 750 PLUS plan.

    Under UL 750 + the speed is 256 kilo bits per second which is equivalent to 32 kilo bytes per second. So if you are getting 30 kBps (bytes) the speed is fine.

    Well I understand speed is fine but is there no other way to increase it ? I mean can I go for another plan which is UL 750 without plus and try port forwarding or something? Gawd..it really is such a sad news to know that....thanks for the reply though...

    You cannot increase speed without plan change. I can advise you as follows:

    a) If you wish safety of an unlimited plan but want more speed you can switch to UL 1350+ plan. It will give you double the speed @ 512 kbps (64 KB/s) but it will also cost more at Rs. 1350/- + tax pm.

    b) Or you can swicth to Home Combo 500 or Home Combo 500+ get speeds upto a maximum of 2 mbps (normal 1.5~ 1.8 mbps). But you will have limited usage limit but free nighttime (2 AM to 8 AM). By judiciously scheduling torrents during night time, you can enjoy the best of both worlds. See the "Broadband How To" section
