Default [Help Needed] BSNL BroadBand WA3002G4 - Wired & Wifi Connectivty - With Basic Lan

    Hi Friends,

I need your help setting up my BSNL DATAONE Connection & LAN, The Modem I have is WG3002G4 (4 Ports & Wifi), Need your HELP:

    The Current Set-up:
    I have:

    2 Desktop PCS
    2 Laptops with wifi
Currently used OS: Windows XP SP2 on all systems.

    What I wish to do:

I want to connect my First PC to Internet through a ethernet cable (In Dialing mode i.e... the Internet Should get Connected only when I Dial the Connection)

I want to connect the Second PC only for a LAN ONLY (NOT Internet) to browse files in My First PC. (I dont wish to connect this PC to Internet through this PC for Safety Reasons)

I want to be able to Connect via Wifi from both my Laptops, By just searching the Wireless access point, entering the pass key & it should get connected to Internet, also It would be great If I could access both the desktops via LAN thru my Laptop Wifi.

Also... the wifi connectivity security tips would be appreciated. Currently I am using the WPA2 Pass key & NAT & Firewall Options are enabled,

    Current Scene:

First PC is able to connect to Internet as soon as its switched ON. (Alwayz ON) - As mentioned earlier I want to change this behavior & get connected only when I dial the connection)

I have connected the Second PC to the modem with ethernet cable. But I am not able to establish LAN Connection with the First PC.

Laptops are getting connected to the Internet without any problems, by just keying in the Passkey once... (next time on it automatically connects)

First PC & both laptops are configured to Obtain a IP automatically.
In Second PC, I have entered the IP address manually... i.e 192.168.1.2.

Sounds quite complex to me.. Please advise.

    Thanks in advance.

    Regards,

    Too_Kool

I have posted a few guides in the "Broadband How to" section. Check them out. Many of your questions will be answered. After reading them, if you still have questions, please do post.

you need to do these.. first switch off your DHCP and mannually assign ip,s to all your pc,s...
sencondly rit now you are configured to use pppoe.. change it to switched mode.. but this way you need to create a dialer on every single pc and laptop... you cant configure it to use pppoe on one pc and bridged mode on other. so its your choice... tip: you can configure it to use pppoe and set mac filters to restrict access to your lappys,... with ofcourse encryption and other things enabled...
now for the third part .. you need to enable network sharing on each pc.. and add all of them to the same workgroup.. then all the pc,s will show up in ur networked pc..
also you can turn off access point functionality for the laptops but not for ur second desktop.. if you want to disable internet on your laptop you can do so.. by going to dsl router page>> wireless >>wireless bridge >> and change ap mode to "wireless bridge" from "acess point"

    so there it goes..
