guys i am having the exact same problum, well i dont know when is b snl going to fix, but for the time being ive found my solution. well the thing is that only port 80 is blocked. so you need to divert all the traffic from some other port, (this is the reason that other programmes like yahoo and gmail r workin.)

I am thinking is it a server error or virus. because one of my friend is suffering from this issue but at the same time I am using without any trouble.

No player. Open DNS does not help here (I have open DNS). The problem was with BRAS. Anyway it was a temporary issue and resolved now.

Yes, I had the exact problem on 1Sep,2008. My download usage during the free timings(2-8am) had exceeded nearly 1GB, then, at 10 am,I just wanted to check my mail, a site opened through the modem and it said "You have excceded or reached 1GB(including night usage). Please login to gain access to the internet".

Since I had to leave to Belgaum that same day, I did not have time to post this and nor to check about this in detail. Now, I just returned, the net is working fine But I don't know about Night Usage. Will I get the same error message??.

I would like to know how to use open DNS. Where do I put the ns, in my adsl router or in the tcp/ip setting page in the computer. how does open dns differ/help from the normal settings. As I am new it might sound a stupid question...sorry in advance

    Regards.

dns is used to resolve names to ip like yahoo.com to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
bsnl has their own dns but its to much busy so it responds a bit slow
so there are these third party open dns providers who offer these services for free

suppose you want to open soumik-ace.com then the open dns or any dns will resolve it to the ip and send the data to bsnl(you).

you can change it in your network places- lan card properties-tci/ip properties- put the ips in the dns space.
