neonglow Welcome to India broadband forum
If your local exchange has port binding enabled then you cannot use a connection from some other phone line and these days most of the exchanges are port binded and do not let you do this but its still worth a try.
Your modem is just fine its the authentication which is the hindrance.
thanx 4 replying.
but how can i know that my local exchange is port binded????
what change in settings should i make it to work???
You can find out if its port binded or not by trying to login with your office id at home or vice versa.. If it doesnt work then there is no way I can suggest as Bsnl will check for the combination of the telephone line and the user name and password assigned to it and will keep on refusing connection.
You dont need to change any settings .. just try the other user name and password.
By the way its illegal to do this in the first place.
