    Question Problem with Broadband and GPRS

    Hi Friends for the last few days I am facing a strange problem I am not able to open any website in one go first time I open any site I need to refresh my browser 3-4 times to open a site and after that whole site start working fine links will open up in just one go.

    But few famous sites like yahoo, google wont even open up. Last night i have to wait around 1 hr to open yahoo mail but finally it didn't get open up.

    Though my downloads from rapidshare in the free download manager works fine with the full speed.

    Also suppose you open any wall paper site it will take 3-4 refreshes to open up initially but after that it works like a breeze and wall papers open up in one shot. This means that this is not a problem with my net speed.

    I am facing this problem with both my BSNL broadband and also with my IDEA GPRS(which is gud at my place giving me download speed of about 17-18KBps)

    Also I am using norton Internet security with both Windows and norton updates set to manual. I have even disabled the fire wall.

    Please help

    if other net apps are also behaving like this then there might be a virus, try deleting all cache, then do a fresh install of your browser. Also run a virus SCAN and use a good one like avg kasper or avast. Also delete your temp files

    I've done all this even update my norton internet security then scaned the whole system also used kaspersky to scan the whole system they both picked up few viruses but all the viruses have been successfully deleted by them.

    Is there a possibility that viruses my have stopped some of the critical services ?

    Dear AKTMNR, I would like to inform you that. the same problem I was facing a few days ago. That time I was getting full speed in download but some site like mail.yahoo. and orkut etc were not opening. Lastly one of my friend suggested that I should download Live one care from Microsoft site, I downloaded that one which removes my NIS (Norton Internet security 2008) from the system but find one trozan in the system 32 folder and remove that one. After that everything is fine. The only thing is that you should have a legit version of window.

    Like I had said some 50 posts ago, having see that my browsing usage of websites were like 750UL but my torrents were going at 200Kb/s. Although, I was happy to see that, because the slower speed allowed me somehow to carefully read blogs, see photos etc, all for a very long time, because after such a long time, the whatever little bit browsing, I had done was annoying, so I was rather after a Torrents.

    But somehow, by acciden, I did a AD-AWARE scan and found some unwanted spyware and after browsing speed was normal,So are the torrents.

    @aktmnr
    you can try browsing in safemode with networking and then see if it makes any difference in your browsing speed if yes then definitely there are some viruses/trojans
