Question UPLOAD SPEED Home500 ?

I'm getting too low upload speed even if there are enough leechers and few seeders in torrents. When I had UL750 both upload and download speed were close to each other. Does Home500 gives low upload speed ???

For me, upload speed is always on the slower side. Sites for which I upload takes a long time like in case of rapidshare and megavideo. But torrent file goes upto 50Kb/s sometimes. Although, I do suffer because, it takes me longer to upload certain files for which I receive premium points for a Premium account in both the sites. But, I am not able to do anything about this.

P.S I am using Home 500

You need to have more seeder and less leechers, Right ?. I have a 750ul plan and my upload speed is twice higher that of my download speed.

To get more upload speed you need more LEECHERs. To download a torrent its good to have lots of seeders. Though its dependent on other factors.

In torrents, if I keep upload speed = 0 (unlimited), I get as high as 130 KB/s (1040 kbps). But download speed goes down.

Well it depends on the time when i upload during the day its higher say 35- 40 KBPS
but during the night free hours i get it a bit less say 30-35 KBPS.
It varies very much. These were an average figures ...because i dont stay awake in the night. But once or twice i found it to be this.
And also this upload speed was in Bit torrent.

Same here. I use Utorrent and get upload speed of 30-35 Kbps in free hours. Even with large no of leechers and 100% completed torrents.

Using BitComet, I receive speeds upto 200Kb/sec(almost always). I got to love BSNL for this.

Heres a proof to compare Download and Upload Speed:-

See Upload Speed is TOO LOW.
136 KBPS bandwidth = 17 KBps

And the test was performed by server from Mumbai.

i think speed also depends on the area wer u stay....
if in ur area no one has BSNL BB, then u'll get maximum speed..
in my case i get a decent speed of 120 KB/sec using utorrent

Question Ideal speed

So what should be the ideal speed like incase of Home 500 C plan? I think its 256 KB/s ~ 2 Mbps......

My "B" and "b" might be confusing,,,,
I ran a speed test, but I was not able to bench mark it.

Thanks in advance.

Prathip

The speed of Home 500 C/C+ plans is anything from 256 kilo bits per second upto 2 mega bits per second (denoted by kbps and mbps).

That's BSNL specified speed. And the max we might get out of it will never be close to it. Am I right? Should we be satisfied, if we get 1/4 th of the specified speed?

Prathip

No. While it is true that you may rarely get 2 mbps, 1.8 to 1.9 mbps is fairly common.
