Talking Changing speed from 256kbps to 2mbps help needed

    Hello,

I am using UL750 plus. As per the plan the speed is 256 Kbps and I am getting that much only. Is there any way if I can increase the speed to 2 Mbps. Earlier I was using unlimited plan but the speed was 2 Mbps. But I think now they have lowered the speed.

    Thanks for the help.

No there is no way to hack it and even if there is... its a punishable offence with a jail term ranging from 6 months to 3 years or a Fine or even both in some cases.

You may be getting a 2mbps speed earlier and I guess you should take it as a bonus and not mistake it as your entitlement... A lot of people get much more then the promised speed but its not something a user can control .. its upto Bsnl to sort this issue.

If you get 90% of the promised speed then I would say you are getting what you are paying for

You are right!!! but my question is why should we get 90% by paying 100%. This is not fare. we should get the 100% as they are limiting our speed and side by side they are giving us 90% of that limited speed.

On adsl lines all over the world if you get 90% of the total speed provided at the node it is considered to be a good connection.

With ADSL the longer the telephone line.. lower the speed.

If you live right next to the exchange yu are more likely to get higher speeds then those living a bit furthur away.

I am not trying to justify or denounce Bsnl for providing speeds lower then 256kbps... I was just putting my point across

@chinmay, do not believe speed tests blindly - though speedtest.net is fairly accurate. AIf you are getting consistent 3 mbps (in torrents and such) then you are extremely lucky son of a gun.

I think, they had his plan misplaced, It was a higher category connection labeled as 750UL and since in the BSNL records, its UL, So he might have gotten lucky.

no i m not lucky one! My line strength is exremely poor, after some 2-3 hours of usage, something goes wrong and it starts rebooting d router, I think my SNR goes down thats d reason. I dont rely upon speedtest.net, but for those 2~3 hours, I get appx 2 mbps speed(300 kBps DL speed)
