    Hello,

I have home3300 plan which i recently upgraded and i thought i would be able to achieve 2048kbps but when i do speed test i hardly cross 1800kbps what is causing this? i have Quidway WA1003A and my exchange is 3km away please check my modem stats and suggest me with useful info so that i can find the route problem here u go:-

    Connection Status Connected
    Us Rate (Kbps) 509
    Ds Rate (Kbps) 1990
    US Margin 7
    DS Margin 30
    Modulation ADSL2Plus
    LOS Errors 0
    DS Line Attenuation 20
    US Line Attenuation 14
    Path Mode Interleaved

Also guys how are my stats? is it good?

just call or visit your exchange and ask them about the speed which you can gain on your line coz as i can see in your connection status the line sync rate is 1990 only. and apart from that if you are already getting 1990kbps then dont worry about anything as there is not a big difference between 1990 and 2048 (infact you will not be able to feel any difference while browsing online)

but still if you are worried about this then would like to tell you that there are lot many reasons which can affect speed like
    distance from exchange
    line condition
    equipment connected on phone line

    Modulation ADSL2Plus
modulation should be G.dmt.also 2048kbps is max speed which you will never get.for most of the users line rate is 2048kbps & we get ~1800-1850kbps avg download speed using download managers/torrents.only very few lucky users get full 2mbps & that too only because there is some upgradation work going on in their local exchange due to which their speed limits were increased.

Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?

2Mbps is not possible like that as it is like the max speed it may go upto.. just look again on your plan it says upto 2Mbps
this is just because 2mbps or any stable speed is really not possible on
    DSL lines...

whitestar_999 meant kbps and not kBps.

If you are getting more than 180 kBps in torrents and IDM then you should be satisfied.

People assume that they will get 2 mbps - that is the max speed and not the assured speed. Note that the speed is promised within user to BSNL DSLAM only, i.e., within BSNL network only.

You'll never get the exact speed as the packages indicate. It is always slower. Downloadspeed is always /8, so that has to be 2048/8= 256kb/s.
