    Default Maximum speed for home 500c

    SNR Margin (dB): 8.7 19.4
    Attenuation (dB): 29.0 15.6

    are thse values optimum for my connection
    i am using ADSL2 mode
    please help....
    What is the maximum speed i can get with my connection???

    SNR margin of 8.7 is too low.it must be above 10 for smooth connection.change mode to G.dmt.

    yes 10 Db is a must, higher the better But not too high ok

    ensure that all your telephones are connected after the splitter..

    I have the values as displayed below,i guess i need to do something,pls tell how to do it..


    My values are

    SNR Margin (dB): 6.9 17.3
    Attenuation (dB): 40.5 22.9

    1.check the line for cuts/joints inside your house & make sure no phone is connected before splitter.
    2.get your line checked by BSNL.

    no line cuts/joints inside my house......what should is say when i call them...they would definitely understand these SNR and attenuation

    just tell them that you are facing frequent disconnections & low speed while using broadband & that you think problem is with the line as you can hear some noise in telephone etc.

    SNR Margin, Line Attenuation, etc. info should be somewhere in the "Status" pages.

    In 192.168.1.1 u will see it at device info>statistics>adsl

    heh my noise and attenuation are like this is this fair one or should be high or low say me pa i dont know


    noise margin 30.3 for download and 20.2 for upload
    line attenuation is 12.5db for download and 5.4 for upload
