i have a home 900u plus connection from bsnl and am using a adsl type1 modem--for a desktop.

i want to know if there is anyway its possible to have a wifi connection from my existing setup--using a router!!

if yes then please specify the router prices and technical setup details

can i have a simultaneous desktop lan connection and laptop wifi connection--that is--does type 1 support simultaneous multiple connection?

Well you can get a router say from NetGear and model say WGR614.
This will serve your purpose ...It will cost you something around 2k or may be even a bit less say in the range of 1500 to 2k depends on the share market and the location you are in.

If your bsnl modem is on rental basis, submit a letter requesting a type 2 or type 4 modem at your local exchange. you have to submit your old type 1 modem when you collect your new modem.

type 2 (1 ethernet + 1 wifi) and type 4 (4 ethernet + 1 wifi) have the same rental cost. Go for type 4 modem. I have Utstarcom 3002g4 type 4 modem on rental. Previously I had huawei type 1. I submitted a letter but I had to go 4 times for my letter order to get processed.

you can have both ethernet on your desktop as well as wifi on your laptop but bandwidth will be split.

It is possible to add a wireless router to your setup. Please refer this thread:

Solution for multiple machines connecting to same BB connection

BTW, I think you mean that you have BSNL's UL750+ connection because UL900 is now UL750.
