Hey guys help me to download maximum from my night unlimited plan , tips for increasing speed improve torrents speed anything ??

if u use utorrent then limit its upload limit to 20... in preferences, enable the encryption for outgoin data... d/l atleast 4-5 files simultaneously with good no.of seeders... visit this forum regularly n sleep tight...

Try port forwarding if you have npt yet done it....It will increase the speed
Try to the download the torrents with large no of seeds..

is their any way i could restart or turn of my modem automatically at 8am i use auto turn off pc but cannot turn off modem ??????

yes!by using telnet script.for this to work you must know the command which will restart your modem by using telnet.

for more than just rebooting the modem.

1. schedule your http downloads(normal downloads) with a good download manager like "Internet download manager" to start and stop downloads at specific times,say from 2:10-7:50.

2. Use utorrent (has inbuilt scheduler) to download torrents,

3. Schedule in windows scheduler for,utorrent to start at, suppose 2:10

4. Use some auto-shutdown software like "power shutdown" to restart your pc at 2:00(so that modem automatically gets disconnected at 2:00 saving you from chargable download).



power shutdown can do the following

• disconnect you modem at specific time
• reboot your pc at specific time
• shutdown your pc at specific time and many more

5. automate your windows logon so that you should be able to start downloading only by turning on your pc.(use "tweaks ui" its a tool).

6. sync your pc time with a good time server,or manually with internet time,watch your download details in bbservice.bsnl.in to check if your downloads are at the same time as shown there(indirectly checking that BSNL server is in sync with your PC or not)

7. use your BIOS RTC alarm(if available in your BIOS),to start your PC from total shutdown state,sothat you won't have to wake up to 2:00 to start your PC.

8. Schedule power shutdown to diconnect your modem at 7:50,your can shedule more than one modem disconnection schedules to stay disconnected as your modem tries to connect automatically,better schedule to shutdown your PC at around 7:50.

9.keep your default BSNL connection at start up so that it connects automatically when you login.(uncheck the box in your BSNL connection properties which says prompt for password,then it'd automatically connect without confirmation,check the box below which says ,"reconnect if line ios dropped",and also there is auto redial in Internet download manager.

so now you have

pc autostart + auto log in + automatic connection to internet + automatic scheduled downloads + autoshutdown = completely automated downloads at night and a good sleep.

only thing you have to do is queue your downloads in the day and keep your pc power cord plugged in at night,everything else is automatic.

ok i tried the telnet stuff but not working im having ut300r2u modem
(pppoe mode) , is their any easy way to disconnect or reboot it automatically .
.....during telnet process the window opens saying trying to connect but it doesnt work ,, can anyone simplify the process....

did u issued the correct command, that is:
"telnet 192.168.1.1" - without quotes, on cmd promopt.
(post screenshots on failure)

telnet is the only way to Reboot the ADSL Modem automatically(thru s/w), for a step by step guide follow this post:

@nethack, buddy, I am not complaining just stating that my assembled desktop from 2002 is way old.

I will upgrade if I feel a need to do so. At the moment, I have a laptop also and hence all the use of the desktop is for my son playing games and I wish to discourage him.

I assume he must be as active:cool2: as u r.

I recommend don't let him play "too much" games on computer.
Computers r really hazarduous for health.
