that is pretty common, since every one is trying to rob BSNL
45 kbps in what? if tottent then try port fowarding
try to check it from different servers and is it happening daily or sometimes only, and for the whole nite you all suck whole BSNL so let it play in morning know![]()
That's due to night conjestion, or you can say "Bandwidth Jam
In bsnl the share ratio is 50:1, i.e., a single line of 2MBps is shared by 49 users other than you... it means if all the 50 users start downloading simultaneously... your 2048kBps will be divided by 50 then.. and your effective d/l speed will b 2048/50 ~ 41kBps... but that case is hypothetical in most areas... as all 50 users never download at the same time in any area... but it might have turned a reality in ur area...
I would suggest try using it for sometime... see if the speed increases... if thr is no improvement, change your plan to 750ul... atleast then u can download 24hrs with avg. speed of 30 kBps...
yes... its true... u can look in the faq section of bsnl broadband... here goes the link...

Hey,
Well tat explains the variable speeds and low cost which i have seen only in BSNL.....Nowadays most guys download stuff at night ...som maybe you ll take a hit (speed) at night
the question u sud look there is -
what is 'contention' or a 'contention ratio'?
i am unable to check this link as its giving me an error
