    Default My story...

So in the morning i was a bit free in the office so thought of writing my story for you...

It was 10 th August that for the first time in that month i could not log on to my BSNL broadband connection because of disturbance in line though i was able to log on for the past last week but i was not getting the proper speed but i didn't get time to lodge complaint.

So now this is the crucial time as all my download and surfing cam to end on that day so i just pick up the phone and dialed 197/198 local exchange complaint number but these numbers are not working

Next day as my father was on leave so he went to exchange and told both of the problems to a person on the counter he told him that the complaint number is not working and we are maintaining the complaint on a register so he took all the details from my father and gave a complaint number to him.

But 2 days has passed and no one even bother to come to our house to check the lines. Third day i went to exchange and told the problem and again this problem was being filed in a register and i was given a complaint number and was assured that with in 2 days the problem will be rectified.

After waiting for few days finally line men of our area came to our house just picked up the phone and said this is the problem with the underground cable and we cant do anything they even don't bothered to check the cable which is coming to my house from the pole and has got few joints.

I think this was 17th - 18th August. when nothing happened till 20th i had called the SDO of our area but he gave us another land line number and told us that he is the right person for these types of complaint i called that number for almost 100 times in two days but no one picked it. One day to my surprised the number was picked up and the person again gave me some other number for the person who is directly responsible for this issue and assured me that contacting this person will resolve the issue in 1-2 days again i called the number given by him the person on the other side told me that the officer who sits here is not present at this point and i can call him on his cell.

Again i was given a cell number(Which was also available on the net) but the cell never picked up.

So after facing so much trouble i mailed my complaint to GM BSNL the district head quarter and cc'ed to GM broadband of our district and the date was 25th but i didn't get the reply though side by side we are complain g in the register which was maintained by local exchange but nothing has changed.

I again sent a reminder mail to all 29th August and then on 10th September but all in vein.

beside this a funny incident happened on day. Its on 9th September my father went to the exchange in an aggressive mood and when he reached exchange he cam to know that JE of our area is on visit to exchange ( in normal days he sits in BSNL office 6 KM from the exchange)

My father went to him and aggressively demanded for the disconnection and used all the bad words to him and BSNL. There are two other ppl with the same problem standing in his office and all three of them (Including my father) started cursing him and BSNL and started demanding the disconnection on hearing this JE said "Shant ho jaaye bhai shahab main abhi kuch karta hoon ab baith jao" He called the line man of our area and strictly asked him why he is not co-operating on hearing the reply he burst into anger and said "Saale gaali de raha hai wo bhi maa bhen ki saale tujhe suspend kara doonga" then again hearing the response he busrt "Abe tu mujhe jute(Shoe) maarega saale abhi dekhta hoon tujhe" from these two sentences you can make out the response from line man to JE

When he put up the phone he said to all three "see how line man is behaving I will compliant about him you all three will have to help me we all complain together that line man used the abusive language" but all three refuses and said ye aapke department ka mamla hai we wont interfear in this we just want our phone to start working. besides this we we are even not sure that he usesd the abusive language as he was on the otherside of phone. Then JE called the techical guy and strictly ordered him to check connections for fault of all of us but the guy simply refuses to do so and replied "If u are ordering me then i wont do it "

See How the BSNL system works... What can we expect from them... Its 12 th today a complete month has passed but phone theek nahi hua hai not even broadband...

This is really bad. I am facing similar situation right now. But the BSNL man does pick up my calls (albiet after several attempts). He visited my home today to check the lines. He claims to have resolved the issue. Unfortunately I am in office and I hope that problem is resolved.

I am an optimist, na? But I still believe that BSNL gives the best plans. Unfortunately Airtel is not giving connections in my area and to be honest I have heard some billing woes from some friends in Pune.

    Which area in UP?
I think this line man needs his attitude beaten out of him before he starts doing some work.. Probbably an alcholic or drug abuser and as you know its a sarkari naukri all they can do is stop promotions and all that but nothing major.

Tata wimax could be an answer to this issue

Its in Modinagar (Ghaziabad) and unfortunately we dont have much alternatives when it comes to broadband. There are only two more providers Worldphone and spectra smart which provides 64kbps and 128 kbps in Rs 600 per month and its damm too costly and also there service is too poor and most of my frnds have got very bad experience with them.

Besides this they also demand of Rs 3000 for installation (For wireless BB a small antenna is setup on the terrace)

Presently I have to use my IDEA GPRS for surfing and do a bit of downloading in office

I am 100% positive that tata wimax is available all over Ghaziabad. You wont have to pay much for installation either as if you pay 3 months advance rental you only pay 300-400 installation and there is no contract duration or anything.

And wimax is not available there i inquired. We dont even have airtel/tata/reliance broadband here...

Thats why i am planning to shift to Delhi or Gurgaon next year...

When I call my local exchange, they keep me on hold, "playing a jingle in the background"

Absolutely right. In my case also till the broadband was working it was working par above my expectations but once it started giving trouble the customer care really sucks.

I just checked with a friend there and Bsnl's EVDO data cards are available at Modinagar (Ghaziabad) and they have evdo enabled towers there which will give you 2.2mbps speed and its pretty cheap aswell compared to any other service and the best thing is that you can move around with your connection in your town and even venture out into the outskirts

Hey thanks admin for the information. I was not aware of this even though I have asked BSNL ppl many times regarding EVDO but most of them admitted that they never heard this word

Also I didn't take much pain as I was pretty sure that It's not available in modinagar

This time I'll try to contact some tech guy

I am from Muradnagar(Ghaziabad) and looking for a decent broadband connection. BSNL EVDO fits the bill.
Aktmnr, did you enquire about EVDo connection in Modinagar? How much time does it take from registering to installation?

I would suggest moving to EVDO if it is the only last resort. If u are planning to take the connection just for downloading H500 suits the bill. EVDO uses shared IP and hence u cannot download from file sharing websites like Rapidshare and private trackers. Also the max speeds possible will be 600~1024 kbps.

bsnl have some good linemans and some bad linemans

first lineman restore my broadband but failed to restore landline and said there is fault in the apartment internal wiring as the line is working well in the bsnl junction box ,he told he has done his job and told me to ask apartment electrician to fix it ,as bsnl doesnt do apartment work

apartment electrican never comes and for 2 months telephone was dead, my apt maintence people r so selfish ,so they are least bother to send one,so i once again called bsnl customer care and filed a new fresh complaint, this time the lineman was different one and he spoke softly and restore the telphone connection and told the problem was not internal wiring but in the bsnl junction box

at the end i was the one who lost the money because of the first linesman and apt maintence guy

i paid the telephone rent for 2 months, without using it

U could have raised a complaint with the local BSNL office about the behavior of the lineman. In here they change the wirings without any fail..

    @internet_guy
i think BSNL has this thing wherein if your bsnl landline doesnt work for 10 days at a stretch.. you could get some reduction for your monthly rental or i think the whole rental is waived off.. im not too sure though!!

^^ The above applies for all the services of BSNL. Was it 10 days or 15 days?
