Default WTF :- A really weird problem

OK, so my connection hasn't really got a problem. No errors: the black modem is working fine, the link is fine and everything was working cool till 4 days back.

Now this weird problem appears: when the electricity power supply is there, the speed becomes damn slow and no page downloads....and when the power goes, the connection becomes fast again......

EDIT::- Now, speed is always slow no matter there is electricity in the house or not. I am on 900UL plan that just got to be H1000 plan. I also see errors like 718 or 619 sometimes.

I know u people r gonna help me here :w00t::w00t:

first of all the UL900 plan is now UL750 plan please update yourself

Now coming to your problem try switching to open DNS servers which are
    208.67.220.220
    208.67.222.222

and see if this helps in your case, by reading your post it looks like that you are in bridge mode, try switching to PPPoE mode and then see if it works more efficiently or not and then do let us know

Also make sure no telephone handsets are connected before the splitter otherwise you will definitely experience lots of problems and make sure your dial tone is perfectly jerk and kirks free!

I did not get it, How do you come to know about your speed, when there is no power to run it?.

I have a sify connection and I experience the same thing aswell when there is an electricity cut here I get max speeds

The only logical reasoning I have got for this is that when there is a power cut every one turns their pc on and stops downloading or browsing or whatever they are doing and you dont have to share the bandwidth with others in your area and this frees up a lot of bandwidth to be used by those who have power backups to run pc's in case of a power cut..

It gets even better when there is a cut at 12ish here coz after that no one really bothers to restart their downloads and I get max 512kbps on my sify connection all night even after power comes back.

admin do you think in my case anything like this can affect my download speed coz i really don't think wimax is shared connection and if there is no one to share my connection then i shoud get proper speed know

For the 4-5 hours that tata wimax connection worked at my place I got extremely good speeds.. more then 512kbps which is my package and I was getting 70KBps + all those 4 hours but since that very first day of installation my connection has been down so cant really say much about it.

I strongly suggest you try the connection a few times... power off the modem and turn on again a few times and see if connects ok and also restart your pc and the modem and try once again...

Check the ariel and make sure they fix it properly.

Dont let the tata guys go untill you have checked everything is in order.
