Post link for screenshot.
Upload at tinypic.com.
Either something wrong with the phone line, or you have connected the splitter wrongly.
I encountered the same problem for one week. Then, BSNL people came and told me to set the modem in bridge modem. on doing so, problem resolved in one second and now I am not even facing any problems.
You have to set teh modem in bridge mode.
@sonu1930
Congrats.
Did you use a Dialer to connect to internet earlier?
or you got connected immediately when system is switched on ?
You get the error codes when you are using a dialer. error 676 phone busy etc.
and in Modem "bridged" mode is selected.
Always mention modem model when ever a problem is /solved/encountered.
For more "gyan"
BSNL BROADBAND MAIN MENU
All shown in "Always On" mode only.
Option to use PPPOE dialer also listed.
In most of the cases this DUN Error 676 comes up when there is a problem with modem drivers, Line or TCP/IP files. If you are using a modem then you can try to install drivers again and moreover if you know how to create a DUN connection you can try that too. If nothing helps then you can contact your ISP for a line test.
Please post your modem config and basic info

Welcome Indian, I do not have much knowledge of computers, but this was my experience, so I shared it with you.
In PPOE mode, I was using dialer to connect and unable to connect due to phone line busy errors. Then BSNL person came and said that due to some changes, we have to set the modem in bridge mode and then it worked fine.

If you are experiencing any problem like error code 676 "Phone Line Busy" then it is better to change to always on mode.
Change it to bridge mode
Hi all,
I am new to this forum.
I am also facing the same problem of getting error 676.
Even if it gets connected, it gets disconnected with 2 mins. thereafter again the 676. the bsnl personnel came and resetted the modem, and recreated the connection, the connection ran smoothly that day, but the problem started reoccuring from the very next day.
Also sometime the link (orange LED) starts blinking.
What should be the source of error.
Am i getting spoofed by some other user/hacker.
Note. the dial tone is clear, and the connection is in rfc bridged mode.
You are not being spoofed. It is likely that your line is bad. Don't be deceived by clear dial tone. DSL requires very high SNR and low attenuation. Please post your values here and check this thread: SNR Margin and Line Attenuation - What do they mean?
I think you are probably using pppoe mode, you don't need to switch to bridge mode. its fine in pppoe mode, in pppoe mode you don't need to connect broadband using your client interface, as soon as the modem is switched on you are connected to the internet and you can use internet.
pppoe mode is useful in a sense that with this mode you can multiple devices simulatneously for internet usage.

sometimes restarting modem and pc solves it
Are you using windows seven? if yes then most likely it is a problem with win7 itself,win7 seem to have glitch, not sure whther it got rectified..just disable the network adapter..open uour modems setting page...delete the connection and either create a PPPoe OR DIALUP .. it should work.
@ceaser
thread starter is not active since May 2010 .
Also reported "changed to "bridged" mode and problem solved.
within a day.
In 2008 unlikely windows 7 was available !
I have Windows 7 Professional:
Kindly report what is the "GLITCH" you noticed.
Post No 6.
2.hey thanks for it...i too changed mymodem mode to bridge mode...previously it was in some PPPOE mode....its been working fine now.
I am on"Always On" PPPoE ( userID/PW stored in modem ) and
no problem for past 9 months.
.open uour modems setting page...
.delete the connection and either create a PPPoe OR DIALUP
Presume you mean the same thing. No "dialup" option in modem.
In Modem wan page You have to select "bridged" for "Dialup" mode.
If PPPoE is selected you get the option to enter ID/PW in modem itself.

^ yes, that is what i said, what i meant to say was just delete the existing connection, create a new one either bridged or PPPOE doesn't matter.
the problem seems to be random,i have windows 7 professional edition and i've faced this problem like say 3 times in last month and even before that...however no problem popped up since the last 20 days.
