    R u using a wi-fi router?

If yes, have you turned your wi-fi network into secure mode by using WPA or WPA2?

If u r not on wi-fi and the scan doesn't reveal any virus/trojan then turn the kaspersky's firewall off... its a false alarm... use windows firewall else zonealarm or comodo...

Appears you are on "dialup" mode.
suggestion 1 :Netbios over TCP/IP check/select default value.
    TCP/Ip properties/Advanced/WINS bottom page)
suggestion 2 : try "always on" by selecting PPP/PPPoE and entering your user ID
without @ bsnl.in and password in the WAN page.
Suggestion 3: Subnet mask 255.255.255.255 change to 255.255.255.0
Suggestion 4 : Use OpenDNS both or as first choice.
    208.67.220.220 and 208.67.222.222.
suggestion 5 : enabling DHCP in modem Later.
Suggestion 6. : If problem solved you can retry DIALUP" option. All ports are open ( present problem ?)
Or use Port forward option in modem.
Portforward.com routers guide and application you need.
Request: feedback either +ve or _ve.

I could not do the above steps as I could not find WAN from the Menu.
I see WLAN under Basics Menu & WAN Access under Advanced Menu.

    never worry

change ur AV pgm to AVG or nod32

Also check whether the site is legitimate enough to download

    TRY DOWNLOADING FROM MICROSOFT

If you have winodows that is not genuine and you downloaded from their site
they may be checking your system information every time u connect

    Always use Legitimate Windows

i am using kaspersky 7 & get such messages sometimes & they are completely true.indian computers especially on older BSNL networks having IP 59.x.x.x are very frequently attacked by hackers.if you remember rapidshare had to block the 59.x.x.x IP range of BSNL to prevent massive hacking attempts on their servers.instead of disabling kaspersky or using windows XP firewall(which is the worst firewall available today)first of all install XP SP3 to get latest security updates because no firewall can save you if you are not using the latest security patches for XP/VISTA & microsoft provides these security patches to all users including those who use pirated windows.even if after installing SP3 you get such messages then simply disable such notifications from kaspersky pop up message window by clicking on the triangle icon.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?

Ok.. I got it... I'm new to BSNL... & my IP starts with 117.x.x.x and my Win XP is updated! I presume thats y I never get those msgs and windows firewall has so far worked for me... So, I thot to recommend it... though I also recommended zonealarm & comodo in my 1st post... And I believe Kaspersky's firewall has to be turned-off while using a different firewall... coz both can conflict and make the system unstable or slow...

Didn't know bout rapidshare crisis...lol... I was thinking to give a try to a more secure firewall since few days.. But got lazy... But ur views have motivated me to beef up the security of my system... Thanx for the information... :thumbup1:

Install Zone Alarm free version put it in Stealth Mode. And disable the Kaspersky firewall/network protection. That will do the trick.

Yes, the free version of Zone Alarm is good enough for home use. Its better than built in firewall in the Antivirus.
