Thread: Excess Billing Problem

I recently shifted from Home 250 plan to Home 500 plan. I applied for the plan on 17/08/08 and the new plan (Home 500) got activated on 22/08/08 :14:. My problem is that i got a huge bill of Rs.8588 in which broadband charge is Rs.7070.83. I was suppose to pay Rs.5000 as annual payment. Excluding this i dont understand the excess Rs.2070.83. I assumed that i was upgraded to Home 500 and my monthly usage was 2247.25 MB. which is under 2.5 GB. Another thing is that i paid Rs. 2500 till Dec'08 as annual payment of Home 250. Will this be adjusted and where?. Hope the above information is sufficient for you to solve the problem. Thankyou.

you assumed wrong!2.5GB limit is for whole month while your plan changed on 22nd so you got 10 days of 500 plan in august & your limit was (2560/31)*10=826MB.

Well, BSNL calculates these Plans changes, in a very confusing way.

yes even i got excessive bill this month...
my BB got activated on 13thAug,so, i assumed tht 2.5GB is free so i used untill 2560 MB....got shocked by seeing the bill..
Even i gave a complaint letter in the Customer care office regarding the excessive bill....
Jus seen this thread, and came to know tht, even my assumption is wrong...
BUT BSNL guys didnt tell me anything like u ONLY HAVE so and so MB usage while taking the connection...
it was actually there mistake...

There is nothing wrong or confusing. All charges are always prorated.

When you signup for a plan, your are not charged at full rate but at the monthly prorated amount. So accordingly your usage and other benefits are also prorated.

Same is true for mobile also. Suppose you get a new SIM connection. Your charges for the first month are always from the date of activation till the last date of the billing cycle.

I got my telephone bill recently in which Rs.1916.67 is for "BB PLAN FIXED BROKEN PERIOD CHARGES". What is this? Please someone help me..plz. For further info plz read my thread (the 1st one). Looking forward for help. Thankyou.

now i had this problem too thay sent me a 11k bill
but it was corrected to 2120

now the problem is with the data base, it gets updted on 30/31 of every month , so go to ur local exchange and file a complaint, it wiil be corrected immediately or you will be told to wait for the next bill

so wait for sep bill, get a duplicate bill for aug on 5or6 oct then for sep on 7 or 8 , trust me on this OK!!

Yes it is a data base problem .......... Guyz @ bsnl dont work they sleep ............... nobody owns bsnl its a Public Enterprize ................... they dont update you have to keep eyes open & update these fools & everything will be ok if they understand & if u r rt............ thank u...........

BB USAGE CHARGE AUG 08 0.00

I'm yet to get my 1st bill... I havent got my bill of august yet... will it come with the bill of september?

go get a duplicate bill frm exchange

Well, I really hope they would describe the exact charges for broadband or make a separate bill for broadband and not mix with phone bill.

I got bill of use of 10 gb for 3 days i.e. From 26.08.2008-31.08.2008. I hae nevet used 1 gb since last i year

Your account may be hacked and someone riding it. Please make a complaint if that is the case.

@itsmemad..............dats great........while everyone is getting excessive bills.........u haven't got any bill......

I got 2 months bill of Rs. 2476 few days back and that too with no outgoing facility... It comes every month... but they don't post it now like old days... We have to go and collect it...

this is really odd, even i m not getting any bills by post, i had to get duplicate bills every month

this sucks!!
