Thread: router page

hey ...i am getting error 676 ..and i am not able to go to router page by 192.168.1.1 or .2 ....i hav zxdsl 531 b type 2 modem ...
so plz guide me how to open router page ...
also is there any way physicaaly in modem to reset its settings....

Warning: By reseting the modem all settings are lost. Do this if you know how to configure the modem again.

- Locate the small RESET switch on the back panel of the modem.
- Switch on the modem
- using a matchstick or toothpick press the RESET switch for more than 20 seconds
- you will see all front LEDs flashing rapidly
- release the RESET switch
- your modem is now reset to factory settings

ip address is 192.168.1.2
subnet mask 255.255.255.0
default gateway is 192.168.1.1


i hav before opened this and changed my password from default admin ...
i remember it ..but the router page is not being displayed ...


i am getting error 676 and hav nt much idea abt configuring modem ..so plz guide ...

i am able to ping 192.168.1.1 and .2 with 0% packet loss....

If you are able to ping to 192.168.1.1 then I am not sure why you are not able to open the router's configuration page.

Talk to the BSNL help desk.

Do you use your computer at office also? Does the browser has settings from proxy server? If yes you must remove it. For IE, it is: Tools --> Internet Options --> Connections (tab) --> Lan Settings (button).

You can reset the modem and configure again. Use many of the guides here as a reference. Note that your modem's interface will be completely different. So you must read the other guides and apply the same principles/values of parameters to your modem.

Suggestion 1 :
In TCP/IP properties select "Obtain Ip address automatically"
Apply/Close.
Start run type cmd type ipconfig/all
Does the default gateway still 192.168.1.1 for the router ?
Suggestion 2:
After you reset the modem ( with power on ) for about 20 or 30 seconds
it is set to factory defaults.
Original ID and password will work
I remember the reset access is a round hole
at the bottom of the router. ( hope same ! checking up! sl2_141 ?)
All others will be square. If you know it, please confirm.

usually the reset access hole or button will be between the Antenna and power Input point/power switch . But not seen here.
