    Default BSNL Home 500

    Hi All,

I am new for this BSNL broadband and would like to know the complete details about Home 500 like

Earlier I had Bsnl landline with bimonthy tariff of 340 and 50 free calls/month

    1. bill amount for the first month(Modem is provided by BSNL)
    2. speed and efficiency
    3. what does that free browsing mean...

If any suggestion, to switch to other plan which would be the one....actually i have been hearing this to be a kind of not so good plan/idea...it changes/ruins browsing life

    Thanks in advance
    PSR

Some corrections first. Earlier your BSNL tariff was Rs. 360 bimonthly and 50 free calls per month. Billing was bi-monthly.

With the Home 500 plan, your billing will change to monthly and you will get Broadband @ 256 Kbps Up to 2Mbps with a usage limit of 2.5 GB usage limit.

Yor charges per month will be:

    a) Fixed line rental: Rs. 180/-
    b) Broadband charges: Rs. 500/-
    c) Modem rental (if modem is rented): Rs. 60/- or Rs. 90/-
    d) BB Usage charges (for excess use over 2.5 GB): Rs. 0.80 per MB
    e) Voice call charges: (all calls - 50) * Rs. 1
    f) Service tax on sum of (a) to (e) @ 12.36%

You are advised to opt for Home 500 C/C+ (Combo) plans instead of Home 500.

If you have not got the connection already, tell them immediately. They will change it. If already done, submit an application for plan change at the exchange (in duplicate). Plan changes are done quickly, I think.

I asked for a change from UL900+ (as it was then, now UL750+) to Home 500 C and it was done in a day.

    excess usage=xx2

I am having Home 500 plan. I didn't get monthly charge for the BFone, only BB charge. I was thinking that they may charge later on accumulated.
If sb21pro is correct then its best plan for me.

I have gone through the BSNL site regarding tariff. They haven't mentioned anywhere what are the Bfone charges for Home Plans.

Bfone charges are as per one-India plan (most of the times). You should check on the one-India plan and other voice tariffs in the BSNL site.
