    Default Speed Problem :(

hi guys...i've recently taken the the ul750 plan (about 1 and a half week ago)...it worked very fine for the first week...and then it became awful bcoz of bsnl's own server problem...sometimes it wasn't just connecting and showing error messages like 676 and 691 and even when it was connecting no sites were opening...well...it got fixed after two days of suffering (in this moday afternoon)...but since then...i'm having crap speed in rapidshare and some other sites...also there are other problems too...like the parts of some sites (like ads) doesn't open...the most problematic thing is about rapidshare...coz i use it mostly i always got about 29-30 KB/s speed using opera web browser in the first 7 days...but now...when i start downloading...it's giving me 5-6 KB/s...and then increasing up to 20-25...but then again falling down to 10-15...and it's keeping fluctuating...i've tried other browsers...but no gain...even i tried with another modem (the same modem i have...nokia-siemens c2110)...which is configured in bridge mode...but it didn't work too...sometimes when i'm downloading a 200 mb file from rapidshare...it's even getting cut in the midway after downloading 150 mb or so...but some other sites are giving proper speeds...like if i even download the trial version of Winzip from winzip.com then it's giving me 29-30 KB/s as it should
what can be the problem guys is it bsnl's problem or my own line's fault? i don't have any noise over my phone line...it's new too
i'm from Howrah...near Kolkata...anyone else is from there who's having such problems?
hope to get some answers soon...thnx

The speed may vary depending on the server from where you are downloading... Try using FireFox & any download accelator like DAP....

with firefox...speed is fluctuating even more...and i can't download from rapidshare using dap as i'm not a premium member by the way...one of my friends have taken the bsnl broadband too and he just got the line yesterday (500c plan)...his line isn't on the same exchange but close...he said that he was having trouble too last night to download from rapidshare as the 2nd page (after clicking on 'free user' button) wasn't opening at all...but he downloaded through torrents and got good speeds...could it be the prob of bsnl's server still?

Dude the Speed What You Are Getting Is Perfect For UL750 (MAX 30KB)

FIREFOX IS BEST FOR DOWNLOADING FROM RAPIDSHARE OR ANYOTHER FILE SHARING SITE:14:

Dwnload the Latest Version of Firefox : hXXp://rapidshare.com/files/148219257/Firefox_Setup_3.0.2.rar [ xx =tt]-=[<15posts]

    IDM(DOWNLOAD MANAGER) hxxp://rapidshare.com/files/148062340/Internet-Download-Manager-5.14-Build-5-Incl-KeyGen-AuthPatch-hantumalaya.rar

Speed Connect-=[ThiS WiLL Boost YOUR CONNECTION BY +5KB] hxxp://rapidshare.com/files/148629348/SpeedConnect_Internet_Accelerator_7.5.rar

I hv a Premium Account in Rapidshare !! I have Used Many types of downloading accelerators But You will get ONLY 30KB Max(average =25KB)

ALWAYS REMEMBER == How To Calculate What BANDWIDTH YOU ARE GETTING

Downloading Speed x 8 times = Actaual Bandwidth You Are Getting

    -=[EXAMPLE]=- 30KB x 8 = 240KBPS BANDWIDTH

    CHEERS MATE ITS PERFECTLY OK:14:

    Default Speed issue

    Hi guys,

    Here's my dilemma :

    Plan : 512 Kbps Unlimited (Home UL1350)
I have the MT800 modem, ethernet.
I have changed the router settings so that the connection is 'always on' and the MTU at 1492. (Thanks to all the awesome ppl here btw! )
    Current IP Address: 59.92.151.213

    Speedtest results look awful.

The average speed I always got is around 50kbps. Now I see in the forum that you actually can get upto 100kbps download speed!

I have port forwarding and it works fine. (Not sure if this makes a difference)

Please guide me in getting a better speed!

ok maybe the speed varies...but my downloads are getting interrupted too (and as i'm not a premium member of rapidshare i can't resume them)
i'm also noticing one thing that...previously the Link LED used to flicker a little often when i'm downloading something continuously (when it also used to give me good speed)...but now it's always just static...regardless if i'm downloading anything or not...does it point to any other line problems?

Yes, if its stable then surely there is some line problem, it wont be stable, it should flicker

i've attached my modem's stats page...can the experts here tell me if everything seems alright or fishy?
i also upgraded the firmware (before it started having problems)...i don't know if that's causing any problems as i'm getting the same problem with the other modem too...
