Thread: chances to optimize torrent download speed

hey there, i wave a few doubts about my broadband connection.
i wanna get my full 256kbps speed while downloading torrents. my scheme is home 750 ul. i get up2 32kB/s while downloading from the net using a browser but when it comes to torrents, i never get that speed. i use popular torrents with many seeds. i use an apple imac. i would like to know if i can turn off the bsnl firewall for the torrent download port to help get my speeds up since bsnl slows down these p2p connections to stop viruses. i have a ut 300r2u router which doesnt have any such settings. will using a different router help? if so, which 1 do u suggest?
