Default BSNL Broadband problem - Not working for years

    Hello,

I am residing at 624005 city, i have a BSNL broadband and also Reliance Broadband connection at my home, i work for a US based hosting company, i need 24 hours internet connection to work.

The problem is BSNL never works fine for me, it works for all in my locality, the guys from BSNL unable to trobule shoot, the problems i face was

    1) Frequent disconnection, once in ten minutes it DC and then reconnect ( i use UTASTARCOMM R3002U or something modem which is given by BSNL Yellow colour modem)

    2) I use Wireless router netgear but it never worked so i had changed now to CISCO this also give trouble.

    3) The bsnl team even came to my home several times but they are unable to give any resolution.

    4) I am in 512 Kbps unlimited plan but the speed at maximum i am getting is not more than180 Kbps or 200 kbps ( 32kbps transfer rate once i got before few days thats it)

    5) I am unable to access many sites even RDP of my windows server from US

    6) The BSNL persons are saying that 512 Kbps will give only speed of 32 kbps transfer rate but i dont agree with this since in 256 kbps when i had i got the same speed.

    7) The settings and all are done by BSNL team only, i had done nothing in that since they will say that only because of this the net is not working.

    8) MY modem reset the user name and password frequently and all time i have to login and give the user name and password ( it reset to multiplay or something)

Now how i have to proceed with this, first i need to know what will be error, can some tech guys guide me?

    http://www.calcuttatelephones.com/da...tall/menu.html
identfy your modem and give feedback
    2.Also netgear model number.
3.Presume your Reliance connection is working ok.
What is the modem make used ?
4.start/ run type cmd type ipconfg/all
    post the data here.
    5. If you are confident of making minor changes in the modem we will try.
    6. Are you using an ADSL splitter? All phones connected AFTER
    the splitter ?

    Hello,

Thanks for the information, hereby i am providing the details.

My modem is UT300R2U type BSNL Dataone provided modem, i also have a netgear adsl modem but as of now i am not using it.

    2) I am not using netgear i am using CISCO LINKSYS wireless router, today i had disconnected the conenction to wireless router and tried but i am getting the same slow speed.

    3) The reliance connection is perfect some times i get about 80 Kbps download in that for my 300 Kbps connection, the modem used for that is UT 300 R2 type.

    4) The results of ipconfig/all is

    Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]

    5) I dont know what is the problem i am thinking that the issue is with modem so i am asking.

6)I am not using the phone line in BSNL so no need to use the splitter so its directly connected only

IS this data enough or if you are in need of some more information i ll provide the same

    Thanks for your time

Even my modem same model (ut300r2u) resets username and password to multiplay.. Since from my previous tata connection i was having billion 5200S so i currently use billion modem and it works fine.

Try using other modem and test a bit..

I had removed the netgear/linksys but now also i am getting the same result, same speed,

My speed is changed now from HomeUL1350 to Home500C which is about 256-2Mbps speed now what this people are saying is i will get only in the range of 256kBPS i am upset, is it true that this plan will give this much speed only?

I am able to download only upto 45kbps speed till now from morning.

understand BSNL connection Modem used now UT300R2U
    frequent disconnections and slow speed.
Access the modem settings and see ADSL page to get data for SNR/ATTN/MOD/LINE speed etc. Post it here.
Speed: Just try this program and use default values. reboot system.

Check speed at speedtest.net say Sydney server. ( Always test here for comparison for any tweaks made )
