Thread: BSNL EVDO, Very slow speed and disconnection problem

Hi guys, I am using this BSNL EVDO since 1 week in Tolichowli, Hyderabad saying I will get 2 MBPS speed and good downloading speed, but I am not at all getting any speed, I guess hardly it is 70-100 or low, I cant browse 2-3 website at a time, even I am not getting good signal, sometime it has 3 bars sometime 2, sometime 1 and sometime nothing , i am just frustated and think I cheated by this BSNL, even I have to pay 700+ taxes every month for this, it has disconnection problem always,

Can anybody help me out, if there is any way which could help me to resolve this issue, coz I already contacted BSNL guys many time but no response,

Kindly help me out if there is any setting which can increase the internet speed and also to reduce disconnection problem?

Its a high possibility the slow connection is due to your location, try using it somewhere else in your house to see if you can get a better signal and speed.

Has anyone tested BSNL EVDO device in Bangalore? I asked for the demo at my place, they're going give the demo with in couple of days time. Very important thing is connection problem and Speed.

its not true.. its because ur location may have cheated u .. so better try it somwere in ur locality...

Thanks guys, I have removed EVDO connection from my place and taken other broadband which is far better than this EVDO, please check your locality and signal strenght before taking this connection at your place,

I have also having same problem. but i get good signal, whereas the download as well as upload is very slow.
On speedtest.net the upload shows 0.13 mb/s and download 0.05 mb/s. Sometime the link gets disconnected.
Today i tried to upload a 14 mb file with send this file, which took nearly 65 minutes to upload. I really not happy with BSNL EVDO. As they promise 2.4 mbps speed (max.), a customer can expect half of that.
Anybody knows how to improve the speed, pl help me.
Those who are interested to buy new EVDO connection, pl check the upload & download speed. I am not recommend this to those who have wired broadband connections.

i connect my evdo after 5 minute it is disconnected every time connected -dissconnected, connected-dissconnected

hi sanjay i also had problem same as u today. it was disconecting every 28-32 seconds. yes in seconds, two time disconecting in a minute!.it was hapning only with windows xp. while in vista it was running ok.i tried evrything but i cudnt make it working.then i reinstalled xp(i tried repair or upgrade xp but didnt worked so i format all and install fresh xp, i lost all my data) after dat its working fine. but speed issue still same. as speedtest.net downloadin speed is 0.09mbps-0.29mbps and upload speed is 0.04mbps. and with idm i can get up to 125KBPS max at nyt 3-4am.and in opera its max 30KBPS.in short i m not satisfied with it.

and i forgot to mention there was 'worm' virus in my xp thats why it was hapning.

have you been able to find any solution for the slow speed. i also have this problem where i have a fairly good signal 3 bands , but the speeds are very slow. event with 5 bands there is no improvement.

Buddy, you are confused.
EVDO can provide up to 2Mbps and not 2MBPS. Difference is Mbps is Mega bits per second. MBPS is mega bytes per second. 8 Bits = 1 Byte. Do the math, when he says UP TO 2Mbps, you will get around 250KBps download speed. Getting a speed of 100KBps is pretty good IMO,even if you get speeds around 70KBps, its very good.

i want you to know that few months latter i purchased this useless thing . they told me that you get near about 1 to 2 mbps speed . They also told me that i am very lucky that i have easly got this connection. because many peoples are still waiting for their evdo. Then i was feeling realy lucky . but when i installed this dirty devise i was shoocked that there is no service area . then the technical satff came to my house and gone to nearby tower to make my evdo work . buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuutttttttttt at last my evdo started but thee speed was and is great ... 20 to 30 kbps ... i was very dissapointed . but i am going to do somethig bad with those guys for this ....

and more thing when intensely complained to gm he sended the guy who don't know how start the pc and that guy was saying that you are getting good speed and called to GM that here i am getting wonderful speed ..

this was the most shocking ascendant of my life ........

hello!why all this ruckus about BSNL EvDo?does it require that u should be close to a bsnl mobile tower?And the laptop shud be located near the main entrance of th3e house and not deep inside?:40::40:

BSNL EVDO, is worst when compared to Tata Photon+ cause you will never receive full speed as they keep on changing accounts from server to server without any information to its users [same with BB too], kindly check with the D/E/JTO of your area..

BSNL EVDO is a utter flop internet connection......because of its inconsistent service......please please dont go for it.....specially for bangalore guys....its dummy now a days.
NIC card looks better if u getting signals of 1X......its atleast constant but speed is just 144kbps,only 250 per month for unlimited plan.

I have purchased BSNL EVDO Data card , it is mentioned that it works at 2 mpbs speed, but when I connect it , it gets connected at 780 kpbs and at he download rate it shows nearing from 123 kpbs to 480 kpbs but when I download the file it downloas only at 8 kpbs to 30 kpbs speed and even when the connection speed show 1024 kpbs and the download rate even shows 540 kpbs to 640 kpbs the actual download is only 20 kpbs

1. its upto 2 mbps and not 2 mbps all time.
