i got evdo in one day from trimulgherry bsnl office.............
n i get 3 towers of signals...............
but speed iam getting is 40kbps i dono y
actually it must b nearly 100 as it is 2mbps card![]()
I posted this as a reply to you on an another thread I am posting it again here
The data cards supplied by BSNL are of two types.
NIC card-speed upto 144kbps
EV-DO card speed upto 2.4mbps(the speed is upto 2.4 and not continuously 2.4mbps)
The speed of your card depends on a lot of factors like the distance from the tower ,open places around your house etc.
I am also from Hyderabad and have been using the card for last 20 days.
At first the card didn't give great speeds during the daytime (20-30kBps)but at night I used to get around 60kBps(480kbps) on an average.
But since a week the speeds are always around 70-100kBps(560-800kbps) throughout the day and it occasionally touches 1 or 1.2 mbps at night.
And now the torrents are also working fine.
And I get 5 bars signal and I got this after a lot of adjustment.
You said that you were getting 3bars signal is it EV_DO or IX.
see this picture
If you are getting EVDO then the max speed would be 2.4 mbps. But in realty you should be geting speeds of around 600-800kbps.
If you are not getting those speeds once visit
http://whatismyipaddress.com/ check your IP and post first set of numbers here then I will be able to tell you are getting a share ip or non shared ip.
Generally shared ips give low speed.
