MTNL Gaduda is not EVDO enabled.
BSNL EVDO is linked to Tarang CDMA which presently have within State Roaming only, though there is a proposal to move towards full mobility CDMA.

There are now three different versions of CDMA
    CDMA 1x
    CDMA EVDO Rev.0
    CDMA EDVO Rev.A
EVDO is the advanced version of CDMA. You can say EVDO is the 3g version of CDMA. But in India, the power of EVDO is artificially restricted by blocking voice access and allowing only data.

As I have already stated, in India the power of EVDO has been artificially restricted by the regulator. So CDMA EVDO is only available only through Data Cards (without Voice) and is not available on normal Mobile No. RUIMs. For this purpose, the Operators use a different set of PRLs for EVDO Datacards than normal Mobile. (I can not go into further details as that might be considered illegal)
So you can not access EVDO through any Mobile (RUIM or non-RIUM) even if the handset is EVDO compatible.

    ^^lol..

means money went in vain..
but what maybe the reasons for so slow internet speed at 1x as rcom told?
i always thought CDMA was the small bro of 3G when speed is the thing in question..i never got best speeds with Papa's 1x.. though they took 99Rs. for one month's 100Mb plan, obviously i wasnt serious so, i opted out after 15 days.. it was hell slow like GPRS

As CDMA is a wireless technology, the data access speed depends on several factors including distance from nearest tower, signal strength, radio power of the handset etc.
I always got around 100 kbps average speed and in bursts it went upto 150 kbps. Even today, I primarily use CDMA 1x to access the net while travelling around the Country as the coverage of EVDO is still limited.

both. whenever required I connect the handset to the laptop.
Also recently got a EVDO datacard that falls on 1x when no EVDO is available.

they claim a speed of 3.1 mbps. But I get an average of around 1.5 to 1.8 mbps with bursts upto 2.8/2.9 mpbs. I believe Shadowcon used to get similar speeds also.
Again this is also wireless so the data access speed depends on several factors including distance from nearest tower, signal strength etc.
There is a dedicated thread on EVDO. You can check that.

1st bold: Is this pc connectible?? (i think you may not be able to know the speeds @mobile)
2nd bold: This is a good plan... but maybe they could have shifted the panel to 5Gb for a more safe browsing.. isnt it?

1st. Net Connect is a normal PC connectable plan that is supposed to use the Mobile handset only as a modem. I use the same user ID/Password for connecting from my Mobile also (instead of the normal WAP user ID/password).
2nd. As I said,l its chosen and paid for by the Office. Don't have much of a choice on that. However, for my requrements, it seems to be adequate.
