    Default Regarding download speed

I have taken BSNL EVDO card when i download files from firefox or internet explorer or any downloader for that instance i get around 25 kbps dl speed and i stay very near to the tower its within 1 km range may be even less than that but when I check the speed from speedtest.net than it shows 1.13 mbps so im getting confused if by chance im loosing my speed?

The speed differs even depending on the time of the day.And dont look at instantaneous speed, sometimes it is very less and sometimes high.I suggest you to look at the average speed for many hours. And also use a download accelerator like Internet Download manager.Free download manager etc.By doing that you can get a bit better speeds.
I have been using the EVDO card for past two munths and it is really great. On an average I download 250 MB per hour.During nights I can download 350 MB also.
The average speed I get is 600-700kbps.

And there is a lot of difference between kbps aand kBps.
    1kBps(KiloByte per Second) = 8kbps(KiloBit per Second).
Generally speed displayed in the browsers is kBps.So 25 kBps=200kbps,which is still less for the EVDO card.

No offencesbuddy but, bandwidth is always 8x the download speed, eg. you have a broadband of 256kbps, then the download speed you would get is 30-32 kbps. the calculation is simple Bandwith/8=download speed. So idealy if BSNL says 2.1MBps the the download speed should be 268kbps(2.1*1024/8)
