    Hi guys,

I badly need some help on BSNL EVDO, would be very grateful if you help me out.

I purchased my EVDO on 13th, the guy at the BSNL office told me that it would take a day to activate. And also a lady told me that my area doesn't have the signal.

I have been trying to connect since that day, but I constantly get the 'failure to connect' message. The signal shows 2-bars.

Now, I am not sure whats wrong with this connection. Is it becoz the signal not being available or the sim has not been activated or some such.

Also, I tried using the card from the centre of the city (just in case it is the network location issue) but the answer is still the same..

If you guys have faced similar issues and resolved, please let me know the solutions.

    Many thanks,
    M

    EV-DO frequency band is different.
    from BB wifi frequencies.

if you have an option in your computer, to show " View Available networks" you will need a WLAN adapter to access other WIFI Networks *conditions apply!

    Post ipconfig /all data

    Hi EssBee,

I am sorry for this newbie talks and fumbles... but I am using this MMX300C, which uses the USB. I am not using any WiFi in this connection.

Am I making sense, or am I totally lost your meaning?

    MICROMAX MMX300C EV-DO card

    Don't worry! I am also a learner/newbie here !
I presume you have inserted the EV-DO card in your desktop or laptop and trying to get Internet connection.
This unit has facility to change SIM card for different ISPs.

Bsnl has given you the sim card also.
If all above presumptions are correct,
    In your computer
    START Network
    Select your Ev-dO connection
    check status/repair/ etc.
Any Icon appears in Task Bar ?

    Hey,

Thanks. Its very modest of you to say you are still learning.

Yes, your assumptions are correct. When I insert the modem, config the uid/pwd, and try to connect using the PC Manager - I get the error "failed to connect to internet".

I tried doing it the way you suggested - i.e. using the network connections > I got the error, stating "remote computer did not respond" or something to that effect. How I am not sure how to initiate 'repair' as I dint find any icons on the system tray.

    Cheers,

This is a new EV-DO card , and hence no detailed instructions are available about set up.
Anyway , let me search, and will try to give some suggestions later.
Can you post this data ?
    Start Click RUN
    New window
    type cmd
    OK
    type ipconfig /all
Copy/paste data here. ( No edit please !)

    2. can you access settings of the card ?
    like any other modem ?

    3. How you get connected to Internet now ?
    to post messages here ?

    Hi,

    Regarding:

    1. When I type, a window pops up and goes off in a blink. I am not able to copy/paste it here.

    2. Yes, I can access settings of the card using the PC Manager (pic attached)

    3. Presently I am using a BSNL UL750+, using Wifi router.

    Thanks,

Thanks a lot, will try that. Also, planning to check with the BSNL today on whether the SIMs are activated and to check if there are any probs from their end.

Will update on this by evening.

    Good day,

    Guys,

Yesterday, I went to BSNL office to find out the reason of disconnection. I expected some help in understanding why it is not connecting. But what I found was baffling. The SIM has not been activated even after 10 days! This is just a 2-minute work, whch the guy had promised to do it immediately. Seemingly the work-order is lost somewhere.

Hoepfully it will activated soon. Will update.

Keep calling them. That is the best way to get the work done by BSNL people.

Happy for you. You can check your speed at speedtest.net or a download from Microsoft will give some idea.
