Smile BSNL EV-DO Rs.550 Unlimited Plan.

Anybody considering a new broadband connection and wouldn't mind BSNL's Awful customer care services can go for BSNL EV-DO.

The Wireless Modem costs Rs.3650 | The unlimited plan seems really cheap !
With speeds upto 3.1MBPS , You just have to pay Rs.550/month.

If you're lucky enough to stay very close to a BSNL network tower , it's a steal for you !

    Upto 3MBPS . 550 per month . Unlimited .

If you are getting upto 1.5mbps also then too its a great deal whit a great option of mobility, but now they have increased the tariff, existing customers can enjoy unlimited at Rs.650 per month, new customers will have to pay Rs.999 per month.

Yah thts it they hiked the tariff but the good news is that BSNL is upgrading the network from Rev 0 to Rev A EVDO technology. This means you get speeds up to 3.1 Mbps over the conventional 2.4 Mbps. And added to this, BSNL will shortly enable all India roaming (National Roaming) (technical work is almost over, testing is in progress). And now EVDO have 5palns Including unlimted 999 and 4 other limited plans

EVDO coverage still seems to be poor in bangalore.....they don't even give a trial period so i cant even check the speeds in my area.

My brother is using this. And I dont know about others but as I tested it's speed, It is a good one. I mean it opens loaded websites in a flash for example NDTV.com: Breaking, India, Business, Bollywood, Cricket and Video News.
Speed checked on speedtest.net and got result of 380Kb/s download. So, I think its good one. But one more thing, it is may be because the tower of bsnl exchange is very close to my house somthing like 0.5 km. May be because of that I am getting that speed. Bad thing is he just don't allow me to use it. Cause I download alot, and he doesn't like illegal stuff (You know what I mean)

    Hi,
In September 2008 when I subscribed to EVDO (REV 0 ), the tariff was Rs. 550.00 + tax unlimited. Subsiquently, tariff was raised to Rs. 650 + tax for existing subscribers. For new connections it became Rs. 999 + tax. Modem cost was Rs. 3640.00. EVDO prices fell to Rs. 1500 and tariff was Rs. 750 + tax. Speed I am getting is 115.2 kbps. Is it possible to get a a new Rev A dongle from BSNL by exchanging the old one without any payments? Please reply.
