Speed depends upon the network, you are getting.
In Broadband you always get full speed but it is not in the case of this one.

With these plans, bsnl network will be so congested that their service will totally suck in the beginning......

ya ure righ.it'll get congested soon. actually in pc we download torrents etc. so the usage shoots up. but in mobile(3g) what r we going to do to get high data usage?
i don't think people will use their costly mobile (15k to 30k) as a modem(2-4k) and download insanely. i've read that too much data usage(like torrenting) will cause heating and damage the battery life as well cause other undesirable effects. for example just touch ur broadband modem for instance it'll be hot. now visualise ur mobile(costly) being that hot.
maybe someone else will be in a position to explain whether what i read is true or not cause i'm not sure. but if it's false then i'll be considering this 3g plan over broadband since i live in city and there will be no tower problem(i guess).

people are already using 3g phones as modems and nothing sucks except the battery as gagan said...

one may change/or use another battery for the modem job..

I think, we should leave 3G internet surfing(on PC) on the Modems designed to do so.

so it's true then.. then i think u guys need to use mobile for the purpose it was invented.
and by the way i'm planning to buy a new phone(wifi enabled). i'll probably put 2g sim. i'll do just normal browsing and probably watch you tube via wifi. will this usage affect battery life.

All wifi and 3g enabled handsets are built to handle internet usage.. all smartphones will give you at least 4hrs of continuous browsing.....disable all background applications, bluetooth and decrease brightness to the lowest acceptable level to have more battery for internet....

    Default bsnl 3g dat plans

arpit, i have confirmed from bsnl this ad have a mistake. 2g plans are shown under 3g category & vice versa. pl. tell me that should i buy a 3g usb data card modem for viewing video streaming on laptop or should i continue with my samsung s83000 as a modem which supports 3g+ & hsdpa? does usb datacards can give more speed instead of phone modems?
